Re: “Tickets Now on Sale for the Nashville Whiskey Festival

I am from NY and the cost of tickets to your festivals in this state is outrageous. Where I come from there are many, many festivals all over the place and are well attended. You see here in this state the festivals being a five year limit at which time it is not getting enough attendance. People go once and do not return because of the cost. I see that over and over again... the life of a festival that charges these outrageous prices is limited. It is a one time attendance because of the cost. People do not come back year after year . Unless everything is free, including food and whiskey it is not worth a return visit.I am not going to attend because of the cost, not only the one ticket but one for my daughter and granddaughter. You just cut off your nose to think you are making money but the life of the festival is destroyed by greed. Three hundred dollars to go to your festival is not worth it for me. You could not have three hundreds dollars worth of fun for anyone. If I want a bottle of Johnny Walker Red or Glenlivet I can buy two bottles for the price of one of your tickets.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: We Do Not Know What To Think About This New David Fox Ad

I'm not sure who is handling Fox's political ads but this reeks of some newly crowned film students from one of Nashville's MANY media programs that convinced someone to let them do something "cinematic" using some of their cool camera gear. Creepy.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: We Do Not Know What To Think About This New David Fox Ad

Fox seems lost in the ad, he seems unfamiliar with the prosperous downtown (thanks to investments that are paying off) through which he is wandering....

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

Betsy - I'm going to take exception to the part about privacy. If a publicly elected official is found to be using AM, then it is absolutely our business who it is.

For example, let's say your a male, married social conservative politician who regularly introduces legislation that advances the sunday school agenda, and you are looking for some extra-marital fun on AM (so you can get to know those lady-parts better!) then you are a hypocrite and your constituents have the right to know.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: We Do Not Know What To Think About This New David Fox Ad

One of the major issues discussed in the campaign is traffic. This ad shows no traffic. Attacking Barry while driving down what appears to be a vibrant Broadway. The visuals in the ad just strike me as weird. And the land yacht he's driving? Maybe that's the Nashville way of mass transit?

Pretty bossy, Betsy. Preoccupations with others' business is the ultimate in liberalism and progressivism, no doubt.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure marriage wasn't invented to protect women and their interests. Control of women's sexuality has always been about the fact that the woman knows she's the mother of her children, the man believes he's the father......

I have no doubt lumpy displays those impressive news sources on his coffee table.

Reading comprehension is the hurdle he has shown no ability to overcome.

It's only the pretense of knowledge that's important to lumpy.

I'm sure he enjoys the pictures and fooling other half-wits into thinking he is erudite.

@BrainGuy - I'm not sure what all was released, but the NPR piece said people could use the site without ever validating their email addresses. Sounds to me like it was a universe of sock-puppets -- almost all of them male, as it turns out.

@presay - Pshaw. Photog from The City Paper (of blessed memory) just happened to shoot me from above, meaning my chins don't show.

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

Yes, excellent point Brother Yoyo! And you are absolutely right! Feminazis have largely succeeded in feminizing men in this day and age! Female women go around in their tight clothing prancing around, just begging for men to make comments or to make a move, and then bam, security or the police have been called! I'm not allowed to follow my natural instincts anymore! Female women used to like catcalls and ass-slaps! But not anymore in this politically correct age! If we would just allow men to be men, none of us would sign up for sites like Ashley Madison! Not too long ago, I was talking with The Emperor about this and he told me of a mental trick that he uses and it works! Anytime I see a sexy woman and I want to cat call, I just bring up a mental image of the Hildabeast and my natural instincts are stunted for a period of time, and I can get out of there!

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

Honestly, I haven't been following this latest peeping-tomish debacle.

I will say I find it perturbing that our politicians and media have gotten so bad that I actually like comments when a right winger's twisted piety is revealed to be the sham it is.

I would prefer it if they would all go away and privacy can go back to being a citizen's right.

As someone who has worked in the IT field for some 20 years, (and much of it in the area of IT security), it blows me away that people don't seem to comprehend the concept of a digital footprint.

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

The discrepancy in account activity between men and women calls to mind an anecdote.

Two five-year-olds, a boy and a girl, lived next door to one another. As children sometimes are, they were competitive about things such as their toys. One day the boy said to the girl, "I have something that you don't have." He lowered his pants and proudly pointed to his appendage.

The girl replied, "Yes that's true." She then lowered her pants, pointed and said, "But my mommy tells me that with just one of these, I can get all of those that I ever want."
