Re: “Quote of the Day: Bill Haslam is One of the Best American Governors...Ever

He's such an ineffective and dimwitted Republican governor who made millions in oil he might even become president someday.

Stacy, I assume this means Gov. Haslam doesn't answer any of your emails.

He's smarter than I thought.

All that comes to mind after reading this trash is "You are wrong, fucked and overrated. I think I'm gonna be sick and it's your fault." -Slipknot

Re: “How a terrible worship song drove me from Christianity

I wholeheartedly agree with you on your point about nonsensical lyrics in all genres. Christians should question what they hear in Christian music. Not only are some lyrics awful and stop me from singing, but sometimes the theology is just wrong. Take for instance the lyric and title if the song "I Am A Friend of God". There's no scriptural basis for 1) proclaiming yourself God's friend and 2) putting yourself on equal footing with God. We worship God because He is better than us. He is perfect. We aren't equal to Him. I may be a child of God, but it's a bit presumptuous to call myself His friend.

Now, to your abandoning God and the church, Casey. You get know judgment from me. Abandoning God and the church because of a few misguided Christian Rock Stars is shortsighted. There are plenty of bad lyrics that are commercially successful. Just listen to some songs from Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, or anything by James Brown. The point is that you shouldn't buy into everything you hear, otherwise we'd all be "drunk on a plane", "day drinking", or "not changing even if I could". Give God another chance and stop blaming Him because of some asshole, uneducated musical artists. They aren't the authority on God and may not be very smart songwriters either.

Introspective and intelligent. I have the same problem with following crowds and shitty lyrics. Build yourself a new religion out of experience and intelligence.

Well it looks like two people are reading your bullshit. Congratulations. Your influence is impressive. Maybe you three can carpool to your Klan rallies, get a group discount on dry cleaning.

Re: “Weekend Round-Up: Friday the 13th the Final Chapter Style

Hey horror fans! I’m the son of Ted White who portrayed “Jason” in Friday the 13th The Final Chapter. I finally got off my duff and wrote about the time my dad invited me to the set for one of the kill scenes and his private conversations between director, Joe Zito and effects guru Tom Savini. It’s a bloody and funny, crazy story and I was there to see it go down. I’ve told this story for years but have never written about it. He’s actually a stuntman who did a slue of Westerns and doubled for John Wayne in several of the Duke’s films. This story and many more from his career are now in a paperback compellation called “In The Shadows of Giants.” And the corpse didn’t fall far from the casket as I have had my own share of crazy stories to tell as well. Check it all out soon on Amazon and Kindle. You won’t be disappointed! Like our Facebook page to get notified of the launch!

Went a few weeks ago to try the vegetarian banh mi. The sandwich was pretty good but both it and the vegetarian pho over relied on weird fake meat instead of simple tofu or, you know, vegetables. Also, the service was horrible.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘You’re Lookin’ at Country’

Once again, Luke was perfectly justified being angry at her (though his award comments were not cool) and Rayna was being awful yet he has to apologize and she comes out looking like an angel sigh... And I so hate the TV idea that prenups are a sign of disrespect/a lack of trust they are a smart idea and modern society certainly justifies it. I like Luke too, I didn't want to because he's the Deacon/Rayna Disposable Love Interest #27309 and that means he's supposed to be the jackass or cheat or get tossed aside but I can't help it, he's smart, nice, a good father and business savvy and he isn't awful like Deacon or Rayna are. (#TeamLuke, #TeamJuliette, #TeamLayla and #TeamZoey)

Scarlett, (the bootleg Disney Princess doll in your local drugstore) was actually kind of adorable this episode. Deacon too (minus the anti-Luke comments) and I liked the idea of them being com mentors along side the audience.

This episode was fun (again minus Rayna being terrible and Luke getting shit on) episode looks like it is going to be a category five shit storm for me. Looking forward to it (if only for your review!)

Irrelevant, shitty article.

Either way, as you said it, you're a middle-class white guy and the guys in Slipknot are millionaires. Somewhere along the line they succeeded where you failed.

I rarely read the comments, but I was pretty excited about this Maggot Braintrust. You guys don't disappoint. Slipknot fans get angered when people write about something negative, I guess. That's like Youth of Today fans hating positive thinkers. Who amongst you is a millennial Libertarian? At least two, I'd wager.

Re: “Is Slipknot unfairly reviled? Our curmudgeonly headbanger gives them another chance and says no

This is interesting see I used to be just like this guy back when I was 15 (I'm 23 now) and I was a judgmental arrogant and pretentious little prick I would say shit like Metallica sucks so I could seem more hardcore to my metal elitist peers regardless of the fact that I've been listening to Metallica since I was 10 years old and is the band that got me into metal in the first place and inspires me to pick up a bass and play and create my own music fortunately I outgrew that elitist mentality long ago and can now enjoy something for what it is I've even started to listen to other music that isn't metal this guy that wrote this simple minded idiocy is either a pathetic grown ass man who acts like a child in which case that's just sad or an angry pubescent 15 year old without a clue if its the second I just hope you grow up cause you just showed the entire internet world how weak and miserable you really are i understand this notion because I used to be like that now that I've stripped myself of that ideology I feel unstoppable slipknot is actually a pretty good band if you pay close enough attention and if your compelled to write an article that bashes any form of music that's fine how about we talk about your multi platinum selling award winning albums [rubbing nipples] oh you don't have any oh I'm sorry
