Re: “We Can't Make This Up (UPDATED)

Nashville scene is becoming to much like the rest of the liberal anti police anti government none sense publications out there.

Re: “The Great UFO Wave of 1973 brought an 'Autumn of Aliens' to Middle Tennessee

I don't mean to sound crazy but in 1973 I lived on 9th avenue north and I remember floating above the house above the telephone polls and walking through house of people that I had never met. My older brother disappeared and has never been heard from. Our house was haunted or so we kids thought. We would see an older white man walk through the house at night and disappear before the bathroom door. He was dressed in a railroad uniform. You know pinstriped duck head overalls and a cap like an engineer or something. We were one of the first black families to live in that area. My brother still lives there but he has since torn that house down and built a new one. Aliens, I don't know maybe but I do know that what I saw as a child and adolescent was real because I did not tell my children about it and they saw it too. I live in Illinois now and I have seen things at my old job at the Tinley Park Mental hospital too. (Yeah I know Mental Hospital) I was sitting in the lab with my regional director and I saw a big black glob cross the doorway. Well I was not going to say anything because I have been seeing crap my whole life that I can remember. She asked did you see that and I replied so you saw it to? We looked but we could not find anything. A couple days later there was a UFO sighting over Tinley. Aliens walking the earth as Ghost, Maybe. She just happens to be from Tennessee also, some little town down near Memphis.

Re: “Paula Deen Talks Sweetbreads, Butter and Why She and Dolly Should Totally Be Friends

Yeah, I also ended up with promotional seat offers in my inbox. I won't be attending, but expect a thorough accounting of every detail from one of the Scene's fine food journalists.

Re: “Gulch Beer Fest Kicks Off This Saturday

The event website says nothing about how you get your beer and food. Is that part of the price or is the beer and food charged separate? Or, in other words, am I paying $50.00 (edit $53.74) to get in to buy beer and food?

Re: “What if TennCare Director Darin Gordon is Really a Performance Artist?

Par for the course.

While funny, I wouldn't pin this on one guy.

You didn't quote this, but these guys have some responsibility for oversight. It is the end of August:

"The presentation was the first time Tennesseee lawmakers have publicly questioned TennCare about the issue, which began to surface early this year.

Re: “What if TennCare Director Darin Gordon is Really a Performance Artist?

Mismanagement???? Given that Grinnin' Bill really does not want it to work (cause he's got a plan that no one knows about), one might assume that this is all smoke and mirrors to delay till at least after the elections.

Re: “#Mayoralchatter: Linda Rebrovick Setting Up Team, Close To Announcement

Given the "gifts" of high priced projects and low priority TRUE public education programs from Dean (yes I'm talking about his pro-charter stance), what we do NOT need is another branch of the Chamber of Commerce on the mayors throne!

Now we have two Republicans that are self-funding their campaigns!?!

Re: “What if TennCare Director Darin Gordon is Really a Performance Artist?

I'm not sure why an auditing firm is being brought in to analyze the development of a computer system. Are the problems purely technical? If not, is KGMT really being hired to uncover mismanagement of the funding?

Re: “#Mayoralchatter: Linda Rebrovick Setting Up Team, Close To Announcement

Well, she certainly talks like a politician. She is just getting started, but she is already tap-dancing all over the place. I have never heard of her before now, but I already don't like her.

The only takeaway at this point is that she is apparently a rich Republican who will be self-funding her campaign.

Re: “What if TennCare Director Darin Gordon is Really a Performance Artist?

"hired a third-party auditing firm, KGMT, to review how long completing the system will take. The review itself will take 14 weeks."

They couldn't just ASK the contractor? How many millions will we pay KGMT?

Once again we see this governor is only concerned with giving welfare to his corporate cronies. The GOP health care plan is simple: get sick and die.

Re: “Tough Questions, Frank Answers at Town Hall Meeting On Ferguson

NO! Mia Culpa, she's a waitress at the Waffle House. Sizzle..........

This just in, YOU do NOT direct the narrative here. Demanding answers to silly questions that have in the most part already either been answered or are obvious, is all for naught. Neither of us will be satisfied with the results and in this case the truth may never be acclaimed publicly!

Re: “Will Congress Address Police Militarization?

This isn't Baghdad, and we're not terrorists. And it's not really about having it, it's about when to use it, and IMHO we need it used judiciously. So far many police departments have used it foolishly.

Re: “The Real Question Is, 'Is Lance Frizzell Being Paid Enough?'

Ramsey says he pays his staff well, but they are employees of the state, and he's not the one paying them.

Why should a lackey for the Lieutenant Governor make more than a teacher?
