Re: “Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen Opens for The Veronicas at Rocketown Saturday Night

woww. wtf. "whose character is, like, 15, or something"?? taylor momsen was 15 herself, the age of the character she played (i initially only watched GG for her). and she had written all of the lyrics to those songs... she is a fricken musically prodigal genius. lolol major underestimation, much... and, fyi, "Zombie" is a very good song. i play it and song it on the guitar all the time :33 no, really- if you haven't already, go check out the pretty reckless's entire very first album. amazing professionalism and genius lyrics coming frm a 14/15-yr-old (when she had written them). no cheesy simple unoriginal sentences as lyrics, but, rather, a deep poetic style of diary-writing/narrative story, almost...

Re: “General Sessions Courts Raise Bar For Waiving 12-Hour Holds

Are there really ever coincidences? Today Richard Branson's headline hit the British Guardian, and I quote: "...Richard Branson: Never do anything that discredits the brand." You can't make this up. See for yourself:
http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/sep/14/richard-branson-interview-never-do-anything-that-discredits-the-brand-virgin

Hmmm. Wonder what he had in mind? This project being worked by a domestic abuser -4 times DUI guy? Just asking.

Re: “The Daily Links: Biggie, Tupac, and Viola Davis

Thank you, JC, not for the link, and I did look at it, but rather this link I just happened across. I looked at the Huff Post to see if they had anything on the ACA:

yoyojohn, something for your amusement perhaps (concerning the ACA):

perhaps not!

That IS if you looked at it, I'm betting you didn't!

Re: “Walter Roche Is Blogging

Well, Mark, you did say:"That his will complains about taxation is hypocritical. That he protests the estate tax, beloved of the left, is monstrous hypocrisy."
Now isn't that just a bit of an overstatement? Perhaps even slanderous to a point?
As I recall, and given that the article is just above, so recall is being a bit sarcastic, all the will said is: "Barrett states in the will that the trusts were being created "to limit adverse estate tax consequences.". Now I am no expert, but I just bet most all wills of consequence contain that caveat or something similar.
Perhaps calling that a "complaint over taxation" takes quite a lot of gratuitous speculation into the dead liberal (and that is the issue, now isn't it) icon's mindset, so pardon the hell outta me if I indulge in some speculation also.
Given that you accused Barrett of being a hypocrite, a good man who has done more for Nashvillians than ANY conservative that crosses MY mind, perhaps you showed a lack of judgement, but all is forgiven. To quote the Bible somewhat: "Go forth and sin no more"!
Save the whales!

Re: “Walter Roche Is Blogging

Jim,

I did no such whatever you were blathering about.

All I did was observe that Barrett's will sounds more Koch Brothers than Bernie Saunders. I thought that taxes were the price we paid to live in a civil society {that and tolerating blog commenters who cannot be consistent from post to post}.

@Doyle, oh @Doyle! I'm ignoring the glowing success of Obamacare and hoping to engage you on the weapons of mass destruction argument. (Because the earth really is flat.)

Re: “The Daily Links: Biggie, Tupac, and Viola Davis

@Doyle: Looking at some of the comments you've made, urine no position to judge others. (I crack me up.) Anyway, to put a more accurate analysis on who was lying, it was Saddam Hussein who lied. He admitted he wanted the world to believe he had WMDs, a lie which prompted Bush to act. So it was Hussein who lied, not Bush.

"This is a weak POTUS with little experience, really no experience."

Well, except for almost six years or being President

"Whatever you think of Bush, you would follow him wherever to defend America"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

"I'm not much of a historian"

We figured that out.

john, you have a bad habit of speaking in absolutes, claiming to speak for everyone in the country. You can speak for yourself, but that's it.

Re: “The Daily Links: Biggie, Tupac, and Viola Davis

If we had a parliamentary gov't BHO would be gone. There are a lot of Dems out there wishing he was gone.

If one goes back to WWI, Churchill made a catastrophic mistake at Gallipoli and was forced out of his government. I hope here we do not have a Bush and Iraq with Obama playing the role of Chamberlain. I'm not much of a historian and it is half-time.

Re: “The Daily Links: Biggie, Tupac, and Viola Davis

Bush is gone and BHO has unfortunately now proving an embarrassment. The people have no confidence in him and I'll bet the above posters are worried People like most on this board are zealots; things are not going well, I know, the country knows it. This is a weak POTUS with little experience, really no experience.

I think most of us sense this is a guy that will get you beat in a close game. Whatever you think of Bush, you would follow him wherever to defend America, not so this president. BHO is through and most know it. The media even has about given up. That is saying a lot.

Re: “The Daily Links: Biggie, Tupac, and Viola Davis

Yoyo moi, I sincerely hope that somebody is paying you for all the time that you are spending spinning the Iraq War. Digging up old quotes and taking them out of context purely for propaganda purposes seems to be a major hobby on the right these days. That's a whole lot of water carrying for one of the single worst decisions in American history. I know from your prolific posting that you've got a whole lot of time on your hands but maybe you just need to let this one go. Friendly advice.
