yeah the big money now is in tech and on Wall Street. the concept of getting rich playing music is probably going to go down as a 20th century phenomenon.

Re: “Ben Folds to Vacate RCA Studio A Building

Nobody in the music industry has any real money unless they had it before they entered the music industry, which most of them did (and do).

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Big Dreamers.

@1st world problems:

I'm not saying that Ben Folds is doing poorly for himself, but I'm going to guess that he doesn't actually have tons of money. He's not some kind of big artist that plays stadiums or something.

Hmm, "raised 124%"? Yeah, creative people don't always describe math very well. Does he mean that the new rent will be over twice what it is now, or only about 1/4 more?

Re: “Ben Folds to Vacate RCA Studio A Building

So, Ben Folds can't keep his cheap rent anymore... boo hoo, guess he'll have to go back to his mansion and wipe his tears with 100 dollar bills. STFU already. Only one complaining is Ben Folds. If he's been paying rent for 10 years, why wouldn't just buy the shit? clown

Re: “Uh Oh: Party Cannon to Play Saturday at The Packing Plant

I would honestly drive the 900+ miles to see this amazing show/experience if I didn't have something better to do, or not.

Re: “Warped Tour at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 7/29/14

haha nashvillecream needs to be too cool for it.
they need to go and hate things for comments, because if you've noticed, their earnest writing- about shows they enjoy.. that isn't going to something they hate to report how much hate they experienced.. usually gains no views. they are unsuccessful with their normal writing, only controversial things or caption contest get comments. seriously, go through the blog.

these bloggers failed at bands/labels/ music in this is their only way to act like they have something to do with this music explosions here, even though not a single one has played in a band that has made any major contributions. and they used to tear down most of the bands who are now propping this scene up (Like kings of leon, bragging about being kicked out of their parties, very lame lame things) or be your own pet members. now only to report back with two thumbs up, and two faces. it is one of the more laughably blatantly ego driven music blogs.

Warped tour is nitch, they knew they wouldn't like it, so why not go shit on it? (They'll say 'we were required, it was a fair and accurate report, we went open minded') or some PC bs like that. Love you guys, but time to pass the torch on to a much less jaded generation. Your self elected writing time has come to be old...So much hate.

...Pointing out Warped isn't cool is like pointing out a handicapped kid isn't performing as well, you guys ONLY can kick things that are down. Come on, go let the people who want to like it just like it.

Re: “Parts and Labor: Where to Get My Turntable Repaired?

wow it is amazing how a simple ? can turn to an outright this is better and why dont u and why wouldnt u? I am having the same problem though. I have a record player that has a cd player in front ,cassette player on side, turntable on top with the "vintage look" i can hear the motor turning but when the record is on it it doesnt turn. I dont want to and cant afford to send it to Seattle and live quite a distance from Murf. If anyone knows the reason or solution i would appreciate it and will look into the radio shack in inglewood and where i live just to see ..if i find a solution i will be happy to post. thank you.

Re: “Warped Tour at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 7/29/14

I wish you could've made it to our set. :) I'm a former Lilith performer. Though Warped is definitely not THAT, we have been well-embraced by the Warped bands, crew and staff. And we aren't the only female-fronted power trio either. Courage My Love, a few years my junior, is a motivating act on the Ernie Ball Stage. We also shared the Kevin Says stage with several female solo acts, plus Icon For Hire (Nashville-based) and Marmozets (from the UK).

Though there aren't as many women on the stages, I think it should be noted that the Kevin Says stage (the owner's own namesake) has a higher ratio of women-fronted bands than the larger stages. He's making the effort. Warped supports female acts - I wish you could've seen more of us.

Re: “Warped Tour at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 7/29/14

Warped Tour is a roadshow that not only caters to kids with terrible taste in music, it cultivates kids with terrible taste in music. At least most of the shitty bands get paid what they deserve — next to nothing.

There was what a time when when Warped at least booked decent second-wave punk bands like Bad Religion. Apparently they don't need to shell out that dough to draw out the young rubes anymore. Less Than Jake? Give me a break.

Also, metal-core makes Limp Bizkit look like Black Sabbath.

Seriously, this is the bad rock music that's killing rock music. Warped is the only traveling festival of the '90s Horde, Lolla, Lilith, et al. bunch to survive as a roadshow into 2014, making it the only concert kids in lots of towns go to. That's just tragic.

Re: “Warped Tour at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 7/29/14

It's a shame you missed the good music and shows. State Champ, Breathe Carolina, Mayday Parade, We The Kings.... I'm sure there were others but these were good...

Re: “Warped Tour at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 7/29/14

Waaaaah. Dont go next year if it'snot your scene. Someone else who doesn't hate it so much will cover it, I'm sure. Or go anyway, then cry about it some more.

But my self worth survived just fine. Even with all the woman hating that it seems only you experienced.

Vanna did a surprisingly awesome set, and then were extremely gracious and humble afterward while signing a t shirt for my son. Even thanked us for being up front.

Several other bands put on fantastic shows as well, including Terror, the ghost inside, motionless in white, parkway drive, and of course Attila. . .And bayside

But its hard to enjoy anything when you're too busy whining and feeling sorry for yourself and simultaneously "too proud for this".
