I had seen Dear and the Headlights with Jimmy Eat World, and loved their live set. I have to say it was a little lackluster last night. Exit in, dead, bored staff, room full of skinny jean teenagers, and odd line-up. Kinch while sounded good, just seemed to be very out of place in nashville. And with the first band being The Cold Stares, sounded like Led Zeppelin or somebody opening for Toad the Wet Sprocket. Dear and the Headlights were great again live, singer is phenom. But I was still reeling from the first band to really intake the cool nerdiness that has become recent rock. Maybe I'm just too old (28), but after last night I went home and put up my recent emo collection, and dusted off my old catalog of fu manchu and veruca salt albums.

I went with a small group of friends for dinner recently. The food was fantastic, but it took over 40 minutes to arrive. Even the salad didn't come out for 20-30 minutes, which makes me think our server forgot to put in our order. We only got apologies from other servers who brought out our food, and no offer to compensate for such a ridiculously long wait. Also, the drink prices are far too high.

Good food, somewhat overpriced, very slow service. The lunch prices are the same as the dinner prices ($10 to $15 for most entrees). Even though I was the only lunchtime customer in the restaurant, it took them 30 minutes to make a plate of spicy noodles, which most Thai restaurants in Nashville can do in 7 or 8 minutes.

Great Indian food, but why in the world are they so stingy with rice? I'm supposed to pay another $3 on top of my $35 takeout meal in order to get ONE serving per entree? One serving of rice per entree should be standard.
Again, the food's really good, but it's already more expensive than other similar opitons, and charging extra for rice (which is so cheap, after all) makes it a losing value proposition.

Upscale and pricy? Really? I wonder if the person who wrote the review of this restaurant has actually ever been there. Shintomi is a pretty inelegant experience as dining goes. The restaurant shares space in a relatively quotidien shopping center populated with a nail salon, a stationery shop, a school supplies store, a possibly a dry cleaners if I remember correctly. The prices are pretty average in my opinion and I would not classify the rolls as gourmet by any stretch of the imagination. The fish quality is good, so if you're craving sushi in Green Hills, it's one of the better places to go. My ultimate verdict though: If you want fancy/pricy sushi, go to Virago. If you want excellent basic sushi, go to Tenno.

I would give a five star if Mel and Pam Tillis are on the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night June 13th on Central standard time here in Russellville Arkansas. You see I am a fan of both of them. Love to see and heara them sing. A Fan who thinks Mel is Grand.

On May 16th I learned on how to be seated quickly at Pancake Pantry. I was having breakfast with friends. The food was good as always. It was raining and there was a line outside. A man and woman entered thru the back door and asked a waitress they knew if she had a table. She seated them in front of everyone else. So next time it is raining and a line, just remember enter thru the back door and ask the tall gray hair lady to seat you.

A few weeks ago, I tried the goat curry. It was a disappointment; I had lots of sauce, and eight bones, but only about half a cup of meat. The bones made up about twice as much volume as the meat did.

First time at the Commodore. We were very impressed by The young lady who preformed there 12-11-08, think her name was Candice Lynn. Couldn't stay to hear some of the later acts, but if she is an example of the quality of talent who are there on a regular basis, we will be back!! She is the reason we rated the atmosphere five stars. Thanks for an entertaining night, we"ll be back.

The service was lazy and the food lacked flavor. We had to send our food back to be cooked more thoroughly including the veggies. Which just confirmed to us that the staff is just lazy.

We were a bit mis-guided...casual yes...the food was excellent - both in presentation, taste and variety. However, the price surely didn't not compensate for the portion(s), atmosphere or service. It was great that all staff 'attended' to tables...but our actual waitress only checked in for dessert (or lack of) and the collection of the check. As far as value, it was not there...the portions...and ordering a glass of $9 wine, we expected at least 1/2 a glass! Wow. Trendy, to say the least. For the same $ we spent here, we could have shared the special at Morton's (service beyond belief and the food exquisite) appetizer, salad, entree and dessert.

This was our first time visiting this location and we told that to the server. We were going for lunch and the food was really good. We ordered a combo platter so that we could try a few things. Our server just seemed like we were a bother to her. She gave me tea and then never refilled it again and even gave me an empty cup when I asked for my tea to go. We asked for a side of sauce that never came, but she still tried to charge it on our bill. She never interacted with our children either, which was bad for a "family restaurant".
It was really sad, because a lot of those little things really add up. The food was really tasty as long as you don't mind bad service.
