Re: “Turns Out the Music City Center Will Not Create Jobs for Goats

Me too AnglRdr! Goats would be almost as awesome as LARP on that rooftop.

Yes, I have much to learn, as do you. Unfortunately, you aren't qualified to do any teaching.

Re: “With the legendary Sen. Douglas Henry out of the picture in 2014, District 21 is up for grabs — perhaps even to the GOP

Steven,

" In the wake of his retirement, one can easily imagine voters who realize they were more loyal to Henry than to his party, creating a potential opening for the right Republican candidate."

Roughly what % of the old district that was not overwhelming Democratic is still in the new district? That would give us an idea of how many non-Democratic pro-Henry voters might be available for the Republicans to snag. I suspect the percentage is much smaller than your article suggests.

Re: “Justice or Vandalism? You Make the Call

His frustration is completely understandable, and the *desire* to solve the problem as a vigilante is very strong: people who use their cellphones in a theater of any variety should be tarred and feathered, at least figuratively.

But you just do not touch other people's shit.

But, champ, the thing is you do care, which is why you keep responding to me.

*That's* how good I am at controlling the narrative.

You have much to learn, sport.

Oh, just have at it, sweetheart. Whenever you "remind" me of it, I'll be sure to tell you how much I care.

Keep trying to control the narrative. Just know that you really suck at it.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘A Picture From Life’s Other Side’

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: we need to get Sylvia Jefferies into a gritty indie drama set in the 1970s, in the South, with John Hawkes as her troubled love interest. There can be a nine-year-old who is weird and dark, and obviously some kind of murder.

I can see the roof from my office. Goats would be delightful to watch!

It wasn't an order, punkin; it was advice.

By all means, continue acting like a pissant. Whine when you get treated like one, and I'll remind you of this conversation.

Stop trying to give people orders, AnglRdr. You aren't in a position to tell anyone else what to do.

Up yours.

"District 21 is historically blue, having been represented by Henry for more than 40 years. It is considered to be even more left-leaning after Republicans redrew the district lines in 2011."

Re: “With the legendary Sen. Douglas Henry out of the picture in 2014, District 21 is up for grabs — perhaps even to the GOP

Rather than these Henry voters waking up and realizing they liked Henry more than Democrats, it seems much likelier to me that the district's love of Henry is what allowed him to continue in the Senate despite his conservatism (and some really risible behavior). I think you can take from Yarbro's almost-coup, and all of our other local officials, that the district can easily support someone bluer than Henry. I was happy to support Yarbro then and now.

I'm no analyst but the idea that a Republican is going to triumph over one of two extremely popular local liberals is just a laugh.

Quit making shit up then, Zoombah.

If you want to have a grown up discussion, act like a grown up. If you'd like more of what you're having with Jim, carry on as you have been.

Re: “High-Powered Chefs Coming to Town for Music City Eats Festival, Produced by Kings of Leon

It would be nice if Nashville had a food and wine festival similar to Charleston where you could pick and choose from different events. $550 for myself and wife. Looks like this will be an event for the upper class.

Re: “Best Local Rock Songs Ever, Part 18 [Sam Baker, The Bis-Quits, Royal Court of China, Practical Stylists, The Ratz]

Interesting omission from your overall list...Davis Deluxe...In 1984, in Music Row Magazine, Robert K. Oremann called their debut single release, "One Of A Kind", "The best rock-a-ballad I've heard by a Nashville band...Sung by an ace rock stylist...This act could go far"...Followup recordings were met with even greater critical acclaim, including a Billboard Recommended review for their third single, "When The Lights Go Down" as well as another glowing review in Music Row by Bob Oremann for it...The band continued on until the early '90's with some of Nashville's heavy hitter session players becoming members at times, including drummer Kenny Buttrey and guitarist Bucky Barrett...Yes, I knew the band personally, hence the "plug", just filling in some blanks...
