Re: “Bill O'Reilly and Dennis Miller Coming, Boldly and Freshly, to the Ryman

'' Liberals were no friends of freedom seeking Europeans and it was conservatives who caused the Berlin Wall to come down. Left up to liberals, the Soviet Union would still be in existence and Iran would still be holding American hostages.'

' i LOLed so hard at your hero ray gun , and your assumptions he and neo cons caused the communism to crumble, really idiot, really?, it was the communism and his own weight that caused the natural death, ray gun had no influence at all..also you have to take responsability and your neo cons, and ray gun, of causing massive killings in central america,, more than 200, 000 killed by death squads,(Rios Mont) in guatemala, (ARENA) in el salvador, and the contras in nicaraugua, seems your stupid trolling and revisionist history is a little hazy, but that is ok,,dementia is taking over your decrepit ass,, you just got served, self serving asshole, now go and take your medicine , and call the nurse to change your diaper..

Uh, and you actually think East Nashville is representative of an area of town devoid of cultural identity? Wow.

Re: “Meet the World's Worst Visitor to Nashville

A few updates to my post: Jim Goad isn't so old; his grumpy, semi-veiled racism only comes across that way. And TakiMag, which I was also unfamiliar with, is clearly WAAAAAY far-right propaganda, wrapped in a more smiley-faced, alt press magazine style. Unfortunately, their stable of smiley faces includes John Derbyshire, Michelle Malkin, Patrick Buchanan, and a buncha other "racial realist" VDARE weirdos. From their perspective, multiculturalism of any kind is bad, but I'm sure they'll find places with the acceptable level of whiteness they seek if they keep on lookin'! So Nashville came up short in that regard, to Jim Goad? Well, gosh darn it! How dang tragic!

Re: “Meet the World's Worst Visitor to Nashville

The author of that article called children "mulatto", spoke of someone as being of "Hindu" descent (Hindu is not a race), and used the n-word with a w thrown in front. And some Pith commenters seem to think that's just dandy. I love this city, but it's y'all, not poor folks in East Nashville, who make me ashamed.

You're responding to something he didn't type. A bit daft, aren't you?

Before you impotently rage more, tell us how Nashville currently (NOT historically) stands out. You can also tell us how Nashville benefits from the seemingly teeming white trash wiggers.

Re: “Nashville Symphony Musicians Issue Statement Ahead of Contract Negotiations

The AFM did not issue a press statement last week, the symphony musicians did and I agree it had some very unfortunate word choices. You will not get musicians of this caliber without a collective bargaining agreement, period. Not in this symphony or any other nationwide. It is not musician cost that has created this situation.

Re: “Meet the World's Worst Visitor to Nashville

Do we actually have commenters suggesting that Nashville used to in fact be a Lil Abner Cartoon, but it's gone downhill? What a read on how things used to be..

Re: “Nashville Symphony Musicians Issue Statement Ahead of Contract Negotiations

There are not plenty of musicians for the NSO. They deserve a deal, but the union once again finds a way to piss everyone off by making stupid statements.

The AFM is a joke.

If it dissuades liberals from moving to or visiting Nashville, this article is worth its weight in gold.

Re: “Nashville Symphony Musicians Issue Statement Ahead of Contract Negotiations

The stupid musicians' union called all bankers, lawyers, and accountants leeches last week. What a bunch of idiots. Those are the people who fund their salaries.

Re: “Meet the World's Worst Visitor to Nashville

Sheesh, talk about not reading the article that carefully; it's not like he spent 72 hours in Nashville yet all of you shitdicks bitch about the 10 minutes he spent in a convenience store. They'll appreciate the hits either way. You just aided and abetted the very man who rustled your jimmies.

Betsy, the burden of proof is on you to show exactly where this gentrification you speak of takes place and how it refutes a single claim Jim made. Nashville's apparent loss of cultural identity (burden of proof is also on you to show how Nashville currently stands out) coupled with its decline in the quality of its residents stand as the crux of his article.

Re: “Nashville Symphony Musicians Issue Statement Ahead of Contract Negotiations

Maybe if the NSO could find some non-union employees, they would be in better shape. There are plenty of fantastic musicians in this town. Why do they need to hire union members? It only drives up personnel costs.

Re: “Meet the World's Worst Visitor to Nashville

So I said, "Jim, my boy, you really want to know Nashville? Just head on back across the river and spend ten minutes in a convenience store. And take a condom - you never know...."

After writing the above I clicked the link to the article. He pretty much nailed it unless those people he described are just visiting. That must be it.

Re: “This Week's Dining Column: The New, Revamped O'Charley's

Well i like the food there. I dont think Ive had a bad meal there ever really. I LOVE the chicken harvest soup although im not sure its still there since the changes. I think the chicken tenders are still great. They have great prime rib and wonderful rolls. They have a pleasing choice of sides and are cheerful in substituting and suggesting. Ive had a variety of burgers and salads without anything under par. I really enjoy the french dip sandwich which is tender. The fish is also nice - served hot and crisp -tender and mild inside. The tuscan chicken is also wonderfully cooked and nicely seasoned. The fried chicken is a wonderful surprise for a chain. Their dips and sauces are always spicey and fresh. I especially honey mustard. They offer a nice variety and offer both bar and restaurant options. They offer a nice lunch and a great supper.
I was very sad they changed the happy hour as it was really good.
I find OC to be in the tops of its category.
