Well, maybe Stamps pulled this thing off, but you'd be hard-pressed to believe it given her level of skill and creativity. The White House has G W and Belle Meade has Martha.
go ahead and groove on the chicken... it's very worthy, but don't stop there... ribs, catfish, mac n cheese, turnip greens, just damn-good-like-your-southern-fried-granny-made-it food. this joint is very close to my house, but i'd gladly take a drive to get my fill.
i second that emotion. norm's is worth the drive; i've never had a bad time there. might be because it's out of the way just enough to keep out the downtown riff-raff. if you go to norm's, it's cause you meant to, and i mean to keep goin.
You had better believe it...her cakes are fabulous. They taste fantastic but are works of art. Great centerpiece for any party, not just kids!!
Andee is simply the Best! She energizes the BG International Festival's Gallery Walk better than anyone. Her T-shirt design for the festival was wonderful; my kids are still proudly wearing it even though we now live in Montgomery. Any city in the USA would be fortunate to call Andee a resident!
I couldn't agree more! Your selection of Andee Rudloff as Best Art Community Energizer is right on the mark. Andee works tirelessly and enthusiastically across a broad spectrum to keep all artists informed of art activities and opportunities from Bowling Green, KY to Nashville, TN. She is generous and supportive of emerging and established artists as well as exhibition venues, community enrichment organizations and educational institutions forming a network of support and encouragement that fosters open dialogue, cultural engagement and creative extension and awareness at all levels. Hers is a natural giving that is driven by boundless enthusiasm for the complex joys of art and humanity. Congratulations Andee!
It would be interesting to see the vote totals.
I've known Ernie and Deb for many years and I've always enjoyed their food just as much as their company! It's a great restraunt and lovely family from Deb and Ernie to Race and Croix!
It is more than obvious once again this year that this poll is a sham & has been for some time... I have personally witnessed this for the last three years and this year I have tracked the count of votes and it's predictable outcome. Lets just say I was not suprised at it's results. This farce came to my attention 3 years ago .. When I opened a small buissness of my own on the east side and had a mention in its poll.Seeking to claim a placement @ The 2nd year I actively had campained for the poll and involved myself to secure my placement. Yet, believe it or not was not mentioned at all and a new compeditor was mentioned..Who had not even been open for buissness less than a month and had no clientel to let alone cast a legitiment vote for the poll. This naturaly peaked my courosity and I was in disblief. Suspecting this poll and it's weekly magazine not to be a true voice of the community!! Vowing to find out for myself next year. I impatiently awaited the poll with one objective to over power the vote with every client Ive known for the last three years including my employees clients, Freinds,& family..not to mention having every single last individual that came thru our doors fill one of the joke paper ballots!! Well the polls are in and what do you know.. this year is tell all result of my personal investigation and to the letter it was How I predicted .. I have the highest regards of my compeditors and there reputation of service ,Let there be NO doubt that they were not able to match the quanity or shear volume of ballots that were submitted in by our clients. So in closing I wish to Cast one last predictable poll for this year.." First place for biggest SHamboozle of 08' NASHVILLE SCENE or should I say Nashville Sceme And I Declare shenanigans!!!!! Yes, I said SHANANIGANS!!!
A spot-on pick, which should be expanded by mentioning that the sound at the Roadhouse may be the best in town. Dave Olney's new album was recorded live there, and the live recordings Norm plays between sets are astounding.
I like to taste one of her tacos por favor...
Congratulations Girls! These are the best cupcakes ever,,,,,,,,,Awsome~~
Brooke O'Dell made the wedding cakes for my best friend's wedding. They were easily the two best cakes I've EVER tasted...and, yes, I've been to Magnolia in NYC. Additionally, they were the coolest, most creative cakes I've seen outside of "Ace of Cakes". You should call her before she is booked up by a celeb-only list of clients.
eric was totally AWESOME in that role and ALL the roles he plays. GO ERIC!!!
Brooke has an unbelieveable talent. She has made cakes for two of my kids birthday parties. She recreated Andy's bed with Buzz, Woody, and friends from "Toy Story". It was awesome. Then, my little girl drew what she wanted her cake to look like, I gave it to Brooke, and she made it look just like what my daughter drew. If you ever get a chance to use her, do! You won't regret it because not only do they look great, they taste like nothing you have ever put in your mouth! MMMM- my mouth is watering!
Andee warms all who know her like a good glass of merlot as well. Her Kentucky time is spent in Bowling Green rather than Paducah but those of us who know her best know that her heart is in Nashville. (wink wink)
Brooke does an amazing job! She has a natural talent! She recently make my wedding cake, and you couldn't tell that her edible flowers were fake, they looked like the ones from my bouquet!
Re: “Best Food Event When Money Is No Object”
i have to agree with the previous comment. i worked for martha last year and was stunned at how unprofessional things were. i heard it used to be better, but lost the chef and kitchen manager a couple years ago, but i don't know personally. maybe they can get back on track?
