Re: “Five reasons the gloriously un-PC Blazing Saddles deserves a laurel and hearty handshake

"This could never be made today."

You've got that right. In a media environment where Sean Penn gets raked over the coals for his "green card" joke at the Oscars, no studio would release such an un-PC movie. The Internet would brand Mel Brooks a racist, and Warner a racist studio.

Chris Rock has said he's stopped performing at college campuses because the students are so ultra-sensitive. Any racially or sexually edgy joke is met with boos or silence. I can only imagine how today's college students would react to BLAZING SADDLES -- or to Richard Pryor albums like "That N-----'s Crazy."

the only other film that stands up so well to repeated viewings in my opinion is "this is spinal tap"

Re: “Are you the person who asked to see a big-screen version of Entourage?

Not all good parties must come to an end and, because Entourage is back! A film about making a film in Hollywood. With actors playing actors playing different characters. Oh yes. No more reaching change TV series to turn into a film, not many deserve this, but Entourage film is nothing more than a good idea, Entourage is a great preview of what I'm sure will be a wonderful movie! I missed Lloyd Ari! I liked the TV show concept, the characters, the story and cameos. I especially loved Ari, he's my favorite person on the show. Shh, do not tell the others. Hollywood Life series is displayed in the legend, wait for it, fruit (yes, I said it!), Craziest things you can imagine, that can happen, and I'm sure that happened in tinsel town. watching a good comedy!

Re: “Disney does dystopia in the kinetic, bewildering Tomorrowland

Finally saw TOMORROWLAND and liked it quite a bit. It captured the bright and shiny view of the future found in the kid culture of 50 years ago (comic books, The Jetsons, anything from Disney). I didn't feel the film's message was too heavy handed.

Don't understand the critics' hatred of this movie. Maybe they like dark, nihilistic distopias -- see the near unanimous raves for MAD MAX: FURY ROAD -- and were offended by this movie's criticisms of that kind of fantasy.

I wonder how many people, other than sci-fi geeks, got the "Hugo Gernsback" joke?

Re: “Powell and Pressburger's restored The Tales of Hoffmann is a spectacle like no other — except maybe Mad Max: Fury Road

Made in England is how Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger who finally stamped their Tales otherworldly, supernatural Hoffmann 1951, Jacques Offenbach opera adaptation, which is now Rerelease. It actually denied the English and British cinema reputation for realism apathetic. This is a purely orchidaceous foreign hothouse flower, studio closed artificial universe, fusion cinema, opera and ballet, this very original film, watching

Stunning, mesmeric, and with a lovely additional piece of "lost footage" never seen before at the end

I'm not sure anything can top "The Red Shoes" for me, but I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

In "Tomorrowland", Action, Adventure, Mystery, SF, George Clooney plays primarily a middle-aged man, who should save the Earth, he was driven from Tomorrowland, a technologically advanced kept secret but, by Hugh River Laurie (David Nix), as a child, In trying to save the planet, George Clooney (Frank Walker) will take with him a child robot. Re: “Three powerhouse female leads make Clouds of Sils Maria a must-see

As it is, Clouds Of Sils Maria is especially an opportunity for some young actresses aspire to respectability that she wanted Jo-Ann in the film. Both Kristen Stewart and Chloë Grace Moretz do some good roles, entering his game Assayas and deconstructed their own images of celebrities for a certain demographic. The best does Chloë Grace Moretz, especially because that allows them metamorphosis film: her character, Jo-Ann, Maria symbol of all that is vulgar Hollywood for Valentine proof that talent is seen in movies category B, proves to be extremely cunning and malleable requirements somewhat elitist art world as he was challenging for mainstream audience expectations. If Assayas does not seem to always find the right tone for the story that subtle intertextual imagined it, Clouds Of Sils Maria proposes even a triptych of characters well nuanced and intelligent comment on the film, literature and present their claims very good watching movie
