Re: “ICYMI: The Batman v Superman IMAX Event at Opry Mills

By the time this movie comes out, next March, the entire film will probably be leaked online. Then what's the point in seeing it -- unless you want the IMAX or 3D experiences.

What is with baby Tussaud? I get the creeps every time I see them holding that motionless zombie spawn.

Yes! When I deciphered Scarlett's mumble comment I said to my cat, "I hope Ashley is back this week!"

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘The Storm Has Just Begun’

"...and the rock she threw from inside her glass house ricocheted and nailed her right in the forehead." Can we make that actually happen on the next episode?

And was anyone else totally creeped out by the Luke/Jade rendezvous? Telling someone you used to kiss their poster in 8th grade and then sleeping with them is just a little...odd.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘The Storm Has Just Begun’

Hah, i didn't notice that. I'd guess the CMHoF has some wonderfully asinine legalese that says they have to use the legal full name of the facility.

Which means that by the time 'Nashville' goes into syndication, they'll have to re-dub the line again to say "There's a reason I brought you to the Tostitos Country Music Hall Of Fame Presented By Nissan."

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘The Storm Has Just Begun’

Personally, I loved how Luke had to add "...AND MUSEUM!" to JsJ's "There's a reason I brought you to the Country Music Hall of Fame" comment. It was so odd and obviously added post filming. I guess the MUSEUM section of the CMHoF IS more his cuppa whiskey!

That bathroom scene between Layla, Juliette and JsJ (I refuse to type out her entire name) was me-ow kitty city! Such hissing! Much claws! This episode was a little Dynasty.

'Wet Cardboard' would be a good name for this duo band should it come to that.

The Daphne/Luke performance was sweet. I liked it. Coulda used some CGI sharks but still sweet.

The only issue I had with the toe-to-head camera panning of post-coital Will was that it wasn't in slo-mo. Maybe we ditch all these charity functions, backstage banterins, cat-fightinz and just make that the entirety of next week's episode. (cries just thinking about it). Talk about my cuppa whiskey!

...AND MUSEUM!!!

My daughter, Caroline Allison Kastor, is named after her great-grandmother Caroline Millikan Sullivan and her husband Frank Allison Sullivan, who lived in Elkton, KY. I just wondered if you are related. My husband is Frank Sullivan Kastor.

Re: “Review: Nashville Symphony Premieres Michael Daugherty’s Tales of Hemingway

Dear John Pitcher,

Are you offering a middle school English essay on Hemingway as "the father of the modern American novel" or a review of Daugherty's actual piece? If so, your Cliff's Notes understanding of Hemingway misses subtleties that Daugherty's interpretation does not. If you had read the novels, you'd know that landscape IS characterization in Hemingway -- that the "deeper darker meanings" (by the way, one of your many verbal cliches) are compressed and hidden in Hemingway's style, much like the sub-currents of sound and counter rhythms in Daugherty's piece. Hemingway's surface machismo is a celebration of time and place, overlaying notes of loss and nostalgia. Hemingway's matador (the one conjured by Daugherty with a guitar-strumming cellist) is the last of his kind.

What is the sound of a lost generation? Terse rhythms pulling against lyrical melodies, the beauty of the landscapes, tolling of a bell, loneliness of the sea, and yes -- spectacle of the bullfight -- this is the Hemingway Daugherty's music celebrates. At the pre-concert talk, Giancarlo Guerrero said to Daugherty, "You have found your language." Before you write another review, try listening to what the composer is saying.

Your review failed to mention that Schermerhorn Center was packed both Friday and Saturday nights, and that "Tales of Hemingway" (along with "American Gothic") had the crowd on its feet for long standing ovations. If you want modernist angst, go read Sartre. But for those of us who miss the days of the matador (as did Hemingway), let us enjoy the music.

Re: “Nashville Recap: 'Nobody Knows but Me'

Need to go to sleep but can't bc I am STILL laughing at this slice of perfection: "He says Jade is not his 'cup of whiskey,' then he pinches some dip, shoots his gun into the air three times, grabs his Confederate flag and peels out in his jacked-up 4x4." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Re: “Your topic for this weekend's MTAC: Is Kill la Kill sexist trash or a satire of sexist trash? The answer: Yes.

Kill La Kill is a misogyny which is built into the conceptual framework of the narrative, its character design, marketing, and visual framing. It is The Bad Anime and I’m sad that people like it

Josie: You're Nancy's mom, right?

Ray: These recaps are an excuse for snarky humor. If you want serious analysis of TV, read Ron Wynn's "Flipping Channels" columns.

Re: “Nashville Recap: 'Nobody Knows but Me'

NEVER CHANGE A THING ABOUT YOUR RECAPS FOR NASHVILLE. They're brilliant and hilarious.

But seriously, Jade St. John? JADE. ST. JOHN.
Gunnar, never wear that hat again. Ever.
Am I the only one that thinks Will is the goofiest goof to ever goof? He's so goofy. His goofy smile? Ugh
Maddie is the worst person in the world and for once I would like for someone to SAY IT LIKE IT IS TO HER. Maddie, you're a jerk. Stop acting like the jerk you are.
Oh Teddy, you're so dumb. I'm amazed you manage to put your pants on in the morning. Anyone could see it was a set up. Geeeeeeze

Ray, you're welcome to your opinion but perhaps you need to take your own advice. If you don't like the review then don't read it. And who says she doesn't enjoy the show? We all do but we can also giggle at the ridiculousness that it can be.

Re: “#NaFF15: How to Do the Nashville Film Festival in Just Five Movies

You might have seen the short "Krisha," which played before at NaFF. This is the expanded feature, which won a major prize at SXSW last month.

MERU is indeed a hot ticket — the folks who saw it at True/False went weak in the knees. Ditto (T)ERROR, which I believe is playing again this afternoon.

Re: “#NaFF15: How to Do the Nashville Film Festival in Just Five Movies

Krisha is showing again this year? Huh. I saw it somewhere last year. Worth seeing--definitely a drama. And there's a story behind the story. I'm hot for Meru--but then I'm a Walter Mitty rock climber. It's getting a lot of buzz in the outdoorsy set.

CUB is reviewed in the cover-story preview. Our writer Noel Murray wasn't blown away, but maybe it's one of those YMMV items like THE LADIES OF THE HOUSE where affection for the genre might make it a lot more fun Here's the CUB trailer, which is pretty exciting:

Re: “Nashville Recap: 'Nobody Knows but Me'

Ms Floyd ~ I don't really know who you are, nor where you are from, but it seems to me that you are simply a faux - elitist, jealous hater! If you don't like the show, don't watch it. Find a show you DO like & review IT.
"NASHVILLE" is a fictional drama with some wonderful music, NOT a "reality show". Speaking of music, I notice that you haven't panned any of it. It's worth it to watch just for that! Notice that there are not any negative comments compared to past weeks. I agree with BradNash, "Never to away, ABC's 'Nashville'!!!"
I am a singer/songwriter living here for 28 years. I invite you to respond to me.

Perplexed~
