Re: “Halloween haunted houses in Middle Tennessee — our guide to the grand, the gory and the godawful

Thank you guys for posting these reviews. The reviews can sting a little, but the truth of the matter is no matter what you may think of you own haunt, the perception of the public is what drives sales. Congrats to the teams at Nashville Nightmare, Death Yard and Devil's Dungeon for hitting the top 3 in the reviewed list.

You should visit Scream Creek. It is actually one of the more enjoyable haunts I have been to and the location makes it even creepier.

OOPS spoke too soon. They're still doing construction. Instead, tonight's HOPEFULLY FUNNY open mic is a house show: 101 Gatewood Ave. 6:30 signup, 7 show. Don't park like a jerk.

Re: “Halloween haunted houses in Middle Tennessee — our guide to the grand, the gory and the godawful

@April - Yeah, that's not good enough. They need to work on having a good haunt first before adding anything for a side attraction.

Death Row added a new attraction. It's a coffin that simulates your final ride, including motion, sound, and scents. You should definitely check it out.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘I Can’t Get Over You to Save My Life’

I'm getting so tired of nothing actually happening on this show anymore. I loved the flashbacks in the last episode (was that 2 episodes ago?) but seriously, NOTHING HAPPENED in this episode!!!! Did they blow their wad when Rayna and Deacon got in the car accident? It's like they ran out of ideas and just keep moving the characters around like chess pieces in order to prolong the INEVITABLE Rayna/Deacon, Juliette/Avery and Scarlett/Gunnar reunions. Ugh. Soap operas are fine and all, but at least real soaps have five episodes a week to make stuff happen. I feel like I just sat through a five minute loop with just the characters changing. NO MORE NEW STUPID CHARACTERS.

I did think Charlotte Ross was an interesting obstacle for whatever episode she was on for ten minutes. Better than weaselly Derek Hough and cute but bland girl from Spy Kids.

Dammit, Luke Wheeler better show his true nefarious dark side pronto.

One good moment in this episode: Will gets some. Hooray!

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘I Can’t Get Over You to Save My Life’

Everything has become so embarrassingly transparent on this show. As FormerTennesseanReader says, it has always been a soap opera, but they have given up any and all pretense of the characters having any remotely human motivation. Everything they do is solely to set up some ridiculous conflict.

And I love the way they just unceremoniously dump any characters who aren't "sexy" enough, Tandy being the latest example. "What do we do with her?" "I don't know. We can't think up any way to get her in bed with anyone, so let's just have her move away!"

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘I Can’t Get Over You to Save My Life’

The show has become pure soap opera. Sure, it's always been mostly soap opera, but for the first year and a half they also dealt with some real music-biz-in-Nashville issues. But they decided to move away from any substance somewhere in the middle of last season and now everybody is a caricature of their real-life counterparts. Maybe that's what the viewing audience wants. I know I'm nowhere close to their target audience and the producers don't give a crack what I think, but I'm guessing it will also be the death of the show.

Re: “Halloween haunted houses in Middle Tennessee — our guide to the grand, the gory and the godawful

Haunted Hell is fantastic!! I had so much fun!! They changed ALOT from last year and it is spectacular! I highly recommend it! Death Row... It's really just a shame. I've gone every year since I was young and it was in the actual prison. It was good then. Now, it seems to get worse every year. This year was awful. I left feeling like I wasted money and bored out of my mind. They didn't even attempt to change anything. The few things they did change actually made it worse, like taking out the maze and extreme lack of actors. The few actors they did have seemed bored themselves. It was truly awful. Even though I have gone every year for nearly 2 decades, it has now been removed from my seasonal haunt visits. I will never go again. I look forward to Devil's Dungeon and Monster Mountain because they have never disappointed me and I always have fun!
