Re: “Joe's Place

My friends and I have been here quite a few times for karaoke and have had a good time. We had let slide, the bartender being rude to us a few times cause we had fun while we were here but it's gotten out of hand. Last night, the bartender actually told my friend that "if he didn't tip her, she wasn't going to serve him", but this was when he went and ordered his first drink. She eventually started telling everyone at the bar that we weren't tipping her(even though I had already left her a dollar for each beer I had). I went up to pay my last tab and heard everyone around me talking about one of the guys I was with, talking about he wasn't going to get any more beer. He wasn't even drunk. Next thing I knew, we were being recorded on someone's phone while he called us "non tipping mother fu*kers". I went and said something to them and the girl got up and was arguing with me. Then the guy who works there, threw me in a choke hold(keep in mind I'm 5'2). I ended up punching a guy who told me "I was a dead motherfu*cker", then I was grabbed by the throat, again, by the guy who works there and escorted out. Needless to say, My friends and I will never be back to this bar. I don't know how they are able to have such rude service.

Re: “Vibe Nightclub

Enforcing political correctness is censorship. If one is to believe certain racist, sexist and otherwise insensitive or discriminatory ideas and behaviors are bad, it makes sense that we want to stop them. But by forcing people to use specific terminology or avoid certain conversation topic is also a bad behavior and we want to stop them.

My opinions of this show would make liberals make assumptions about my character, it disrespects me and it also diminishes my identity. I went to see Casey Campfield The Musical because I thought it was going to be funny. I was wrong. It was mean spirited, rude and the people turned hostile to me when I showed my displeasure over the play.

There was NO reason to admonish me for not believing the ways YOU think and act have mindful, respectful behavior.

I came in expecting to have a good time. I left hostile and very angry. These very people who work, play and enjoy The Vibe were expecting me to accept their way of life yet wanted to ask me to leave the play because they would not afford me the same respect.

Re: “Bricktop's

Run away if anyone asks you to go to brunch there. The decor is the best thing I can say about this place. For the first time in my life, I left a restaurant hungry and had to get something to eat afterwards after spending $60 at this culinary dump! I ordered the hueos rancheros which was two eggs laced with a little sauce on two corn tortillas. It was six bites and nothing else on the plate. No black beans no salso and no chorizo as advertised on the menu. I should have sent it back the minute I saw it. Unbelievable. I should have taken a picture with my cell phone. You would not have believed it.

Re: “Caney Fork River Valley Grille

WARNING: Unacceptable - NO service.

We arrive at approximately 11:30 on Sunday morning and requested a table for two. The table we were offered was not want we wanted so we asked for another (note: only 3 other parties were in the establishment). The greater apparently did not like our request and mumbled something, but she did seat us at the table we requested.

We waited and waited, no one came to wait on us. Twice we requested service from passing wait staff. Neither responded. After 20 minutes and at 4 new parties being seated and served their meal, we left.

Re: “Brewhouse West

So apparently if you are gay then you are not welcome here at all. Twice now I have been told I have to leave because of my sexual orientation. I have not bothered anyone else, nor have I forced my beliefs on anyone because I believe everyone has their right to their own opinion. I can not say I have had a good experience here ever. Some of the staff are okay but overall the faculty are assholes who will not listen to a thing you say to defend yourself and try to make matters easy. Instead they will tell you that you have to leave because of your orientation. This place is a close minded faction that I can only hope will be closed down soon because of their mindless opinions.

Re: “Sperry's Restaurant

Sperry's, what can I say.
Arrived early for a 5:30 dinner reservation, party of nine.
Seated and served water, wine for the table ordered.
Waiter comes back to the table to advise the grill was not working and they could only offer cold appetizers and prime rib.
Personally I could live with this but the 5:30 reservation should indicate to anyone in the industry that our party includes older patrons. Reservations made a week in advance should be given the common courtesy of a phone call. If you show up to fire the grill at 3PM to clean it and there is a problem, please have the decency to call the customer. It's simple common courtesy.
You'll never get the opportunity to disappoint me again.

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

Tonight my family visited the West Valley fun center for the last time until the security protocol regarding potential child predators is changed.
We had just sat down in the theater to watch a movie when a man walked up paused and then sat down next to my 10 yr old daughter. He started talking to her asking her to look at him, stating she was pretty and again to look at him. As my wife realized what he was saying he gets up and leaves the theater. I followed him out and into another theater and then went to get security to report a problem. I tell the first person I find to call security and explain what has just happened to us and that there is a predator fishing for young girls, While I'm waiting for the young man to get someone the person I am trying to repot walks out of the theater area past the staff and into the fun center. I am told that security is on it and I should go back to my movie. Reluctantly I follow the instructions believing that as staff they know how to handle these situations and everyone in the lobby has seen the guy so am no longer needed. After the film ends I exit to the lobby and attempt to get conformation from an officer that the issue was communicated and the individual has been dealt with. What I found instead was not one but both WVPD officers on site know nothing of a potential predator, clueless managers that claim they are just coming on and that your policies are to only involves PD when needed. As a parent I am gravely concerned that in an environment where children are at risk your staff, policies and processes are not up to par. The officer I spoke with was quite upset that I was the one reporting to them a predator risk and that management was not up to speed with the issue. One manager informed me that an individual was escorted off the property and that was probably the person at large. My issue is not with what did or did not happen to the person in question. My issue is that as a business that caters to families and children, a threat of a predator should be more of a concern to you and your staff than I experienced. Again I do not have an issue with a singular person but rather the entire security process regarding the reporting of a potential child predator. All security staff should be notified and pass downs to incoming staff should be done to ensure they are aware of potential risks. Local PD especially on site officers should know of risks and should be involved in deciding what risks are legitimate, and not left to management. I will begin a boycott of any and all establishments that are owned or operated by your organization. I will also be posting on any and all public sites to inform the public of your lack of concern for public safety, including Facebook and other fast moving information sharing sites until I receive communication that outlines changes to policy that attempts to better protect children in your facilities.

Re: “Ms. Kellis Karaoke Bar

This is a poorly ran bar. The employees are nice but "Ms. Kelli" herself is a very rude person. Drinks are priced well but its the poor service of the owners that make the experience bad. Will never go to Ms. Kelli's again.

Re: “Cinco de Mayo

A Bug was in our Margarita Pitcher tonight (02/15/14) at Cinco De Mayo at the 358 White Bridge Road location. I had never eaten here before and my friend from work wanted to go out and suggested that we go here. Mind you this was not her first choice but I wanted to try to check out the NBA All-Star game and figure this would be a good place since she had been here and their other locations before. Never again would I come to a place where there was hair in my food, mediocre service, and bugs in the ice/drinks. I was so shocked, disgusted, and embarrassed. I have never had anything of the sort happen to me ever! Not even at a fast food place! The manager of this establishment thought it was funny and laughed at the situation! I would not recommend this place or any of their other locations to anybody; friend or foe. The manager acted poorly and was very disrespectful about the situation. He did not represent this company in a good light and did not offer an apology.

Re: “Bombay Bistro

I have dined at Indian restaurants in many cities both small and large and never have I been more disappointed that at Bombay Bistro. The food tasted processed, almost like a Whole Foods frozen Indian meal. It was not at all authentic Indian food. You cannot cover bad recipes with spices. I was also alarmed at the rude attitude of the manager/owner. He lurked by the tables all through our dinner. He treated his staff poorly and in plain sight which added to the uncomfortable vibe. So, to wrap up my review, if you like processed Indian food with an uncomfortable vibe in a "strip mall setting...not to mention the dark ambiance in the room which added nothing...than you may or may not like this place but for me, I have found better Indian food at other Nashville restaurants with hospitality to match ! I will not be back to Bombay Bistro. Steer clear.

Re: “The Arts Company

I find Charles Keiger's work pedestrian and derivative. It is based in subjective and laughable surrealism, all stolen from the greats and reduced here for consumption for those he thinks do not know his influences. A sad example of modern "surrealistic" art - (f)art for the simpleminded who "love pretty horsies." Honestly, get some Grant Wood and do yourself a favor.

Re: “The Wild Hare

Thought they'd hopped out of town---gone out of business.
Constant turnover in the kitchen (tells you something about the help), dirty, quality of food has really gone downhill, over priced, loud, unappealing environment... There are lots of better choices in the area now.

Re: “The Great Escape (Charlotte)

Do not buy or sell here! They are absolute crooks and will NOT offer you a fair amount for your items. If you bring in items approximately worth $150 retail you can expect a $45 offer. They are still going to sell it for $150 though! Anybody that's that shady with their business does not deserve your business. My family, friends, and I are never going back and I would recommend you do the same!

Re: “Midtown Fellowship Church

they lost me at their web site with infant baptistm, which apparently they practice, but don't explain on their web site WHY -- apparently you have to go by their church to get the information on that. I also don't get the point of planting congregations in a city that is overflowing with churches of all denominations. If someone is Christian or curious in this city, they should not have a problem finding a church. Why do we need yet more? It's crazy IMO

Re: “Unity of Music City

I agree with the previous poster. This "church" scares me! Look them up on Facebook or on their website. They believe it doesn't matter which religious path one chooses - they all lead to heaven. BOLOGNA! I hate to tell you but Unity Church members are going someone after death - and its VERY VERY HOT.
