Re: “Jackson's Bar And Bistro

The service was okay, but friendly, and the food was great. A great atmosphere, whether it is for a casual date or just going out to eat with friends.

Re: “Jackson's Bar And Bistro

Ashley's review is probably BS. What's more likely is that Ashley doesn't realize that when you pay your bill with a credit card, they preauthorize for the amount on the check before tip is added. When you add your tip it doesn't show up until the transaction settles with the bank a day or two or three later. They probably didn't call her back because they looked at the receipt and saw that both times they charged for exactly the amount she signed for. In addition, Ashley is probably mildly retarded.

Re: “Metro Arts Gallery

Great venue for the thriving Mid-Tenn Arts Scene!
'Nueva Vida, Nueva Trabajo' especially engaging on every level--great colors, styles, textures. Very diverse presentation, highly recommended: * * * * *---at least.

Re: “Nashville Public Library

Shakespeare Allowed is the best free thing in Nashville. It blows me away every time.

Re: “12South Dharma Center

Lovely calm environment. Great for small group gatherings! A little difficult for anyone who may have a handicap to get up the stairs.

Re: “CharacterEYES Eyecare and Optical

I have purchased many pairs of glasses from charactereyes, and always find they have a great unique selection, and friendly professional service. I never tire of getting complements on my glasses, and looking years younger.

Re: “Zeitgeist Gallery

Ah, but Laura...all the work exhibited is new, never before shown. Over 60 new canvases, half at Zeitgeist and half at the Sunset Grill. My long time, home town gallery and the supportive Randy Rayburn at Sunset deserve no less. A Far Country: Crossing Borders II. Best to all, Paul Harmon

Re: “Ovvio Arte

this creative space is something nashville has needed for along time...
it's a place where the crowd does not judge, they dance.
a place where the owner greets you at the door and wishes you to have a good time.
a place that invites the cooky, the weird, and the normal.
and everyone is having the time of their life.

the cover was $10, and i would have gladly paid $20.

i can't wait to see what's store at ovvio arte next time.

Re: “Adventure Science Center

I'm afraid the pricing and exhibit information is a bit out of date. Adult admission is now $12 and Child (3-12) and Senior (62+) admission is $9. Planetarium tickets are $6 for non-members and $4 for members. There is no planetarium admission only available during regular business hours. Permanent exhibits include BodyQuest and Space Chase. The Microbes exhibit is no longer there. Hope that helps anyone thinking of going there.

Re: “Gallery One

I love this gallery in Belle Meade Galleria (across from Le Peep restaurant). Though I have not had an opportunity to purchase artwork from Gallery One, I have attended many of the artist receptions and have always been impressed with the quality of the artists represented here. Last night I attended the opening reception for a show entitled A River that was a benefit for the Harpeth River Watershed Association. There were works from over 30 artists, some from TN. Very nice!

Re: “Jackson's Bar And Bistro

While seemingly chill- Jackson's has a tendency to add-on to its bill. The past two times I have been to Jackson's once at the bar and once outside dining, my bank account showed an increase in the final number of my bill, above the tip. The employees at this resturant add to your bill so they can pocket it. I called the manager who was busy- and never called back...Beware and pay for the sub-standard food with cash.

Re: “Nashville Public Library

The listing is not quite accurate--we do meet once a month, but it's not always the first Saturday. Please check the Nashville Shakespeare Festival website for correct dates! www.nashvilleshakes.org This is an enriching, casual community gathering. All are welcome! Come read aloud or read along, and bring your own copy, if you have one! =Denice Hicks, Artistic Director The Nashville Shakespeare Festival
