Re: “Hard Rock Cafe

I ate here a couple years back and the food was fantastic. Nice atmosphere at that time, too.

Re: “Corner Bar

The best thing about this bar, last time I went, was the wild, funny management byee a friendly Kurd, from that part of Iraq which fights Isis. Sometimes on a cool eve, he'll toss some meat on the grill outside, and invite the patrons to jump in. The down side is that they don't start serving beer until 3PM, which is 3 hours later than the nearby Springwater, but the maniacal diversity of its clientele, (hospital workers, pals of the owner, construction workers, neurosurgeons and retired lawyers, to set out a few), makes this a charming place for games which are played, especially, as I recall on Sunday, for the silent Nashville majority which does NOT go TO CHURCH..or, does go, and goes to the Corner Bar afterward.

Re: “Queen Ave. Art Collective

Honestly it was the first time I felt like I was actually at a show. We've been in Nashville for almost four years, and I never got the "small town house show" family feeling in-till Queen Ave. What a grand idea, and even grandeur execution.

Re: “B.B. King's Blues Club

Incredible weekend during CMA Fest to check out something other than CMA Events. Went Friday night to see Tom Wurth, Tony Coleman and The Experience. WOW! Interesting to find out that Tony and Stanley Abernathy (drums and trumpet respectively) played for BB for years! Tom Wurth is a soulful country, Grammy nominated artist. Amazing voice! The guys were as nice off stage as they were talented on stage. It was great to get to meet them as well as hear them play great standards as well as their own material. As for the food and atmosphere, with all the rush rush during CMA Fest, it was nice to kick back, even with a HUGE crowd, in a place that is inviting. I had the Shrimp Caeser Salad and it was wonderful! Later, after drinks, we had a snack of their sliders and some fried pickles. First time I ever had fried pickles was a BB's in Memphis years ago! Good stuff! Part of the fun was meeting the wait staff that are hard-working musicians too. We checked out one of their pages and looks like a budding talent.

Re: “Ascend Amphitheater

I would suggest more seating pictures and how the lawn seeding is handled. n real time photos. you have several diagrams of seating but nothing that his a real vantage point view. suggest some from the stage looking out to the crowd and picture from each section. thank you very much for listening to my comment.

Re: “The Cave

They got the name right. The joint is a cave, complete with all hard surfaces, echo, very unpleasant to listen to music there. They could vastly improve the awful acoustics with some inexpensive sound absorbing treatment... hell even carpet on the floor or hanging some burlap in the ceiling would be a vast improvement.

Re: “Field House

The Whiskey Tasting was fun. I'd never been to this bar before this but I'd like to go to their next one. I think they do one every month.

Re: “Field House

The Pig on a Cow Burger blew me away! It was an 8oz BBQ burger loaded with pork...what?!?
The place is spacious with TV's everywhere. The staff is laid back and friendly. I like that it's non-smoking and has Golden Tee! I think this is my new Sports Bar.

Re: “Starlite Club

The manager lady did a great job with booking bands and keeping things running over the last couple of years. But it's a damn shame that the owners lost the vision, lost the goal, lost the interest to keep the place going.

There is a tremendous business opportunity in Nashville for a place like Starlight, where you can hang out and watch people or dance, have dinner, have a good time, raise a little hell, no pressure, no drama, no traffic, no parking hassles.

But no... they didn't care enough any more. A damn shame, and I hope that someone else with VISION comes along and takes up that opportunity.

Re: “Commodore Lounge

Home base for a some of Nashville's biggest, best and/or newest songwriters. I like that six out of seven nights a week, established and newbie writers can also sign up to perform there after the scheduled sets. I've seen and heard a lot of great performances there! Also great food, free parking and no cover charge--cool deal!

Re: “Bobby's Idle Hour

This is the home-boy (and girl), not-on-the-tourist-maps songwriter dive bar to end all dive bars. People don't come here to impress, they come for the original music (no cover tunes allowed) and fun...not unlike a Nashville version of Cheers, only it's right on Music Row. You never know what industry professional who may work or record nearby might wander in and even get on stage, day or night. This place has a history like no other in Nashville, even the Bluebird. Now that there's no smoking, it's even friendlier to a larger base of fans. Strongly recommended if you're into substance over glitter.

You go to a jazz club, and the best you can say is you had the best cheese burger? Lame, lame , lame.
