Re: “Criallo's Bistro & Bar [Closed]

The place is closed. And, rightly so, as it went slowly down hill.

Re: “Rippy's Smokin' Bar & Grill

Not sure which BBQ place the other reviewer went to but it definitely wasn't rippy's... Service was horrible, I felt like I was imposing on the staff to ask for a refill on my flat soda. I had to drink soda because the beer they brought me was warm. Ribs were dried out and a big let down considering they boast to have the best in Nashville. I never write negative reviews but had to on this one. Open for other suggestions!

Re: John Pinette
My wife and I went to the 8-02-2012 show. We both love his comedy, so we were extremely excited about seeing him live. I'm sad to say, however, we were very disappointed. It was as if he had never done standup before - almost like he had stage fright. He kept starting a story, getting sidetracked, and then never getting back to the original story. There were long pauses between sentences, not for effect, just because he couldn't remember what he was talking about. When he first got on stage, he said that he had been in a surfing accident involving a 14ft wave. So, maybe he was forced to take pain medication. Whatever it was, we were sad to see him in that kind of shape. We literally felt sorry for him - not exactly what you want to feel after seeing a comedian.

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

I'm glad there is a movie theater that don't cost a fortune and has a variety of movies. Once you purchase the bucket for popcorn, the refill is only 3.50 and it is huge! They are also nice enough to make us some salt free popcorn as I have hypertension. I love this place!

Re: “Sambuca

We got married this year at Sambuca and brought our own priest, family, and friends. The staff and special indoor accomodations were perfect. Everyone enjoyed their delicious meals and drinks on the patio afterwards. I have been to Sambuca many times before and have always had a great experience. Glad that my wife and guests had a good time. Fun times... see you guys soon!

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

I went on a Sunday morning and couldn't have been more disappointed. The place was still showing signs of the night before. I ordered eggs benedict and got a combination of a cold, dry english muffin, cold ham, something that resembled an processed egg product, flat and tasteless, and topped with a congealed sauce. We were told immediately that they were out of jambalaya and shrimp although others around us were ordering shrimp. I think the community night life and cajun food is probably acceptable and maybe even good, but we we won't go back to find out. I got the impression that because of their reputation, our meal- or lack of, just didn't count. We were charged full price though we didn't eat it. Sorry patrons.

Re: “Play Dance Bar

I guess I have been around the Nashville Gay bar scene longer than most. Many are gone, like one of my favorites, The Chute. But Play is Fantastic! I have read many reviews where the clientele is more of what's reviewed than the club. The $10 and up cover ( more for a headline night) is thought to be steep, but in my opinion, it's worthy when you consider the amazing atmosphere inside. The drag performers are Fantastic, the drinks are yummy and unlike other bars, NOT watered down. I've heard some hater reviews about their being too many straight men or women who are there to make a "fashion statement" and I'd just like to say, shame on them! The true beauty of a gay club is its openness to all who come to be respectful and have a common goal, "Having a great time!" Closed minded haters, straight or gay, aren't welcomed. I am a straight beautiful woman who has been referred to as a "fag hag" and told I didnt belong there, needless to say, there were quickly told that they could leave bc it was actually them who didn't belong. I can have a night out dancing with them there easier without talking them to a straight club where I had to mace some redneck hater who insulted my friends, so how right is it to be hated on that I'm straight!?! That being said, the shows are amazing, bartenders are attentive, bathroom assistants are fantastic and the dance floor is awesome, one of the best ever!!! If you want to enjoy a night out I believe club Play offers every aspect to make it a success!!!! I go at least once a month and I look forward to the next time as I'm leaving for the night heading to parking lot! Fantastic!

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

I can't believe it's only $1.50. It's really clean and nice and I'm glad I gave it a try. We're going back this weekend as a matter of fact. I'm waiting for some other movies to come here to save a few bucks. Can't beat it. There used to be a $1 theatre where I lived previously, glad to see one here.
