Re: “Songwriter Session feat. Ray Stevens

As a whole it's an okay promo but yet there are phrases that seem, to me at least, to go for the jugular and go beyond being a promo for an event and more about venting irritation or at the least being perplexed/puzzled as to his popularity and longevity. Are there any personal reasons at play for using the phrase "political insult videos"? I only read that description from those that don't like his conservative political views. "Mississippi Squirrel Revival", "The Streak", and "It's Me Again, Margaret" have gotten millions of unique views on YouTube as has several of his political videos. I don't see where his "goofy" or "hokey" comedy as you described it is losing out to his political comedy.

Went to see good bluegrass but instead saw repetitive boring hammering with too a many solos. Left at the break. See why they are bastards of bluegrass

Re: “Josie Kuhn Book Release Party

I have worked in Nursing Homes for a long time. Being a caregiver of 10 -14 MOSTLY elderly (and often demented) people at one time IS abusive, period. It is ugly and impossible to do correctly. It is abusive to the caregivers and to the residents. The "nursing hours formula" is a complete sham and does not AT ALL reflect the caregiving time each resident receives individually. Older people are less flexible, have pain in their joints, are often confused, EVERYTHING from standing and sitting to dressing and toileting takes MUCH more time than it does for the rest of us, especially residents in skilled nursing units. AND YET, the State(PA in my case) seems to think that one person can care for as many, or more of them, at once as you could young children. To give everyone SOME care you must rush rush rush through all care (often resulting in skin tears, bruises, as well as generally upsetting the resident and increasing their fears and confusion). And now, residents are not "medicated for convenience", so often they have severe behaviors that are distressful and even harmful to themselves and everyone around them, so MORE time is needed to use "non- pharmacological" interventions. (Caregivers are regularly kicked and hit and suffer bruises and scratches that are never given a second thought or reported because it is SO common of an occurrence.) Residents are no longer to be put in even soft or passive types of restraints, of any kind, so there are many falls, and when they fall guess who gets blamed.... This industry is still in the dark ages.

Re: “Oddisee w/Mountainwalker, Amerigo Gazaway & Cold Fingers

Oddisee is the real deal. Glad we're giving him some love from Nashville... or maybe it's because most stuff coming out of the south these days makes "In My White Tee" sound like the hip-hop equivalent of Joyce's "Ulysses".

Re: “Fantasia With the Nashville Symphony

It was an absolutely wonderful show, but the title was misleading. I thought they would perform all the pieces of the 1940 Fantasia, but they ended up playing a mixture of the old Fantasia and new Fantasia. I believe they did this to play it safe, as Night on Bald Mountain still generates controversy to this day, as silly as it may seem.
All in all it was fantastic and did justice to both Fantasias, and I loved seeing it being appreciated by many generations of audiences.

Re: “Fantasia With the Nashville Symphony

Fact checking, please. The Symphony presented the year 2000 version of Fantasia, and neither Bald Mountain nor Ave Maria (sadly) were played. It was definitely known well befriend that this was the version they would perform. But the performance by the orchestra was in many places spectacular and it was a wonderful evening despite the misguided but no doubt well-intentioned folks who erroneously thought this was an altitude appropiare every to which to bring very small children - it wasn't.
