Re: “Nashville Delegation Drops Ball On In-State Tuition For Undocumented Immigrants

I'm sorry, but you were elected (and more importantly, *PAID*) to *VOTE*. If an elected politicians is *paid* to vote (by the voters, anyway...) and doesn't show up, and they don't have a serious illness or death in the family, they should be banned from running for reelection since they obviously have more important things to do than their job.

Re: “Nashville, We Have Strange Priorities

Maybe I missed it, but what's the fiscal note on transporting hundreds of prisoners every day to the jail docket in general sessions court. Or are they going to move the jail docket out to the new jail and have all the attorneys drive out there?

Re: “Nashville Delegation Drops Ball On In-State Tuition For Undocumented Immigrants

If you don't want to give this tuition break to these people, then you are simply a hateful person. Do you not want these individuals to go on to become productive members of society? Not that college is the only means to go about accomplishing that but it can be a huge boost. The negative impact on our economy would be greater if we just leave them on their own than if we were to fund this tuition break and have a greater shot of contributing to society later on. Jeez, Bo Mitchell, you really really really suck.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: The Candidates on Moving PSC Metals

I'm not a huge fan of eminent domain for anything other than schools, hospitals, and critical buildings like that. I'm going to side with David Fox on this one. Just change the zoning, rent goes up to its actual market value, and the problem will take care of itself.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: The Candidates on Moving PSC Metals

Why would Metro have to buy the more expensive property? Why not let a private developer handle that redevelopment? Sheesh. She's on the right track. Government isn't always the answer. Personal property rights matter.

Re: “Nashville Delegation Drops Ball On In-State Tuition For Undocumented Immigrants

Um, wow, Bo Mitchell, you are an embarrassment. One work meeting at a healthcare corporation takes precedent over the ability to give thousands of young people a leg up in life?? How incredibly disappointing and, quite frankly, sad.

Re: “Nashville Delegation Drops Ball On In-State Tuition For Undocumented Immigrants

These immigrant families are also taxpayers. What's the harm in educating ALL our high school graduates so they can have meaningful careers in our community and pay taxes, as well?

Ah thanks, did not realize the Boscos connection!

Re: “Sheila Butt Doesn't Think Your Rape and Incest Claims are Verifiable

Please AWP don't bother Phil Valentine with this insignificant story, Phil is busy searching Google to find people with dirty sounding names that he can repeat on the air six times per hour. Now that's great radio!

Re: “#MayoralChatter: The Candidates on Moving PSC Metals

So Linda's answer is to build up and develop the property around PSC Metals so much that the value goes sky high and then they will sell it??? So let's help PSC Metals drive the price sooo high that developers won't buy it and then Metro would have to pay a ton for it??? Yeah, that's real bright......

Re: “Nashville Delegation Drops Ball On In-State Tuition For Undocumented Immigrants

There are a LOT of legal citizens struggling to pay for college, and then a LOT of taxpayers struggling to pay taxes and provide for their own families. I'm thankful the legislature didn't add to the load taxpayers already have.

Re: “Council Advances Sale of Old Convention Center

There may indeed be some corruption going on with the deal, but surely part of the relatively low purchase price reflects the requirement of the developer to provide the space for a museum at no cost to the museum itself (though the museum will have to pay for the interiors and operational costs, afaik) or additional costs to the taxpayers. Also, the government has already subleased parts of the old convention center to the Renaissance Hotel, meaning the developer is not buying the whole complex.

Re: “Nashville, We Have Strange Priorities

I'll be glad when Karl Dean goes back to spending his wife's money instead of mine.

Re: “Nashville, We Have Strange Priorities

Stupid question for the smart folks on this board. Which candidate for mayor is LEAST aligned with Karl Dean? That's who I want to vote for.

Re: “Dogfish Head Brings Its Popular Beers Back to Nashville

Just being tongue-in-cheek about Memphis craft beers. There's only about a third as many as Nashville, but most of what I've tried is quite good.

But if you ever drank at Boscos, you've had Ghost River. No need to make a special trip for that one.

Re: “Council Advances Sale of Old Convention Center

"Anyone know why would Metro sell for so far below market value?"

Good question maybe someone should look into OliverMcMillan's campaign contribution, 40% of appraised value sounds like some sweetheart deal.

Brother Yoyo, it's part of the character of libtards to libel conservatives! They are very vile creatures! And this Fitzhugh guy looks and acts like a real turd! He should be recalled immediately! Does anyone know if Phil Valentine is aware of this guy?!? I should probably email him and find out!

Re: “Nashville, We Have Strange Priorities

I suspect Karl Dean is just moving the riffraff out of downtown. Gotta make more room for the one-percenters and their multimillion dollar walking bridges.

"Although it has been appraised for $27 million, Metro will receive $11.25 million from the sale of the property to OliverMcMillan Spectrum Emery Inc."

Anyone know why would Metro sell for so far below market value?
