Re: “Freedom's Just Another Word For... Well, a Bunch of Stuff

And here's one more thought: Maybe equality means that men and women share equally in contraceptive decisions. A woman is never really equal when she bears 100% of the responsibility and 100% of the consequences for a decision involving two people.

Except all insurance plans place limits on what prescriptions will be covered and where they can be purchased. They also make all policy holders cover stuff they don't need.

Freedom means I am not coerced into paying for more than I need, and that I can buy meds wherever I want.

Re: “Freedom's Just Another Word For... Well, a Bunch of Stuff

Well, Donna, 1st given that Hobby Lobby receives tax incentives from the government, and in receipt of such incentives agrees to abide by the minimum health insurance standards which include these Rx's, it is reasonable to expect them to adhere to that agreement. 2nd given that it is the requirement of the ACA that they provide such coverage, it is reasonable for the employees to expect Hobby Lobby to adhere to the law of the land.
What the SCOTUS has gifted us with is a Pandora's box of frivolity and mayhem via the religious zealots who wish for far more than to worship as they wish, but to force you to worship or at least adhere to their religious dogma least they be philosophically offended. In granting Hobby Lobby their "religious freedom" per se, they violated the employees right to avoid that religious dogma as it pertains to there compensation via insurance coverage. The floodgates will open, and every fringe group will sue to avoid legal obligation in their business ventures.
One must also understand that there is no de jure right to conduct business, given that any business of consequence must be licensed from the government, hence it exists at the government's pleasure.
It is obvious that this SCOTUS, via the four activist judges, with their affinity for pro business, pro plutocracy, and probable anti individual sovereignty in regards to a woman's bodily functions, intend to re-write 200 years of judicial action in the hopefully short time they sit.
Were you aware that Hobby Lobby provided these 4 Rx's to their employees long BEFORE the implementation of the ACA? Yet it appears they had an epiphany, a vision from GOD to take advantage of the court and make a statement regardless of the social cost. I would think long and hard before you celebrate this wrong decision, fro the floodgates from LaLa land will surely open!

Re: “At Kohana, Green Hills' new Japanese eatery, there's almost too much to like

I personally think Kohana is great and they are not just like every other sushi place. The atmosphere is modern and inviting and the sushi is great, not to mention the jalapeno calamari, which is the best I've every had anywhere, even on both coasts. They also have very good cocktails. I am always treated very well when dining in and have never had anything but an enjoyable, quality meal here.

Re: “Not in Your Back Yard: Tell Me How You Really Feel About This Piece on 'Nashville Living Rooms Turning Into Music Venues'

Definitely house shows have been around for over a hot minute. I don't think 15-20 $ is viable, unless u throw in all u can drink or all the cheese and wine you can... I do think the house show hangs offer more social room for audience people to get to know people in bands and properly receive one another/fuck around/get hi/get an hj. ;) If bands could make more money at a house show than a club, and no cops, Food, lodging, and a few bed mates, then I agree with booking bands at house shows. God knows " the band STAND and wait til it's your turn at a venue/bar is poison. But I'm guessing that's not what you are making This discussion for.
It's a bit Cliche-ville (still being fully realized, apparently)
to pose it as a "Nashville" thang... Idk I'm almost happy to see the Tennesseean finally using the web... Maybe that's where their use of the "Nashville" language is aiming to gather trend. It's all about those damned likes man! Ha
Honestly the article came across like they just started using the web, and this was their "eye catcher!" Well other than Dr. Ming Wang!! Bahahaha ha 😎

Re: “Is support for medical marijuana lighting a fire under Tennessee lawmakers?

Tennessee is just stupid they can charges $5 per gram on taxes and they would make a fortune. so you were to buy $20 worth of DRO it would be $25 then the government's making money off of that of marijuana photo effects of marijuana so then we could turn around and they could use that money for roads schools and everything else that would make money just like Colorado Washington and all of them

Re: “Not in Your Back Yard: Tell Me How You Really Feel About This Piece on 'Nashville Living Rooms Turning Into Music Venues'

Burger didn't really qualify what 15-20$ means, maybe that's the source of anger? That figure is pretty average when including buying merch, records, tapes, etc. directly from a group. My only concern is that some kind of critical mass occur and then a city ordinance is passed preventing house shows, kind of like how home studios for profit are illegal. As someone who has a really hard time being booked in regular clubs, the house show scene has been a long time go to for booking myself or friends various projects that don't fit the two guitar, bass and drums rock model. Some of the best shows I've seen, from a variety of genres, have been house shows. Not because it was a house, but because there is different ethos involved, art for art's sake over running a business. With that sentiment in mind, house venues aren't as sustainable in the long run and are intrinsically transient.
