Re: “Why Don't We Give Poor People the Incentives?

Emperor, I think that you and Brother Yoyo have proven your point, as you always do! I read your links and they make perfect sense to me! These libturds are just too dense to understand! Anybody with access to the now legendary FINFICALOM study that demonstrated that eliminating all taxes would bring in trillions of dollars to the federal and state governments, would know this! It would also result in poverty being eradicated! It's also well known by the right historians that after first granting universal healthcare, the Nazis next move was to raise taxes on the wealthy! And all but the densest of libs would understand what happened next! But the losers around this blog get all of their news from the Lamestream Media and wouldn't know real facts if those facts waddled up to them on the streets of East Nashville and bit them in the arse! It makes me so mad!!!!!

Re: “Otis Gibbs preserves music stories for the digital age

CORRECTION: Otis Gibbs reports that the site where Marty Robbins wrote "El Paso" is still standing. Also, Bill Monroe's name has been fixed. Apologies for the errors.

"yoyo, I am passing a link on to Tracy and Brainless, only"

Might as well send diet tips to Jim Collins or a career guide to John the Revelator.

yoyo, I am passing a link on to Tracy and Brainless, only

Ideology of the left, Brainless. Well, well, it is bad, directly causing a loss of one trillion and a failure. It is a liberal,Democrat thing. That should be all that is needed to changes minds here.

Facts-here are plenty:

Yes, what about the Nazi word? Forbidden?

Re: “Why Don't We Give Poor People the Incentives?

The "Washington Times"? Really? That's your source?

The paper was founded by the Unification Church and Sun Myung Moon. According to descriptions of the paper in "Wikipedia":

"We're trying to combat communism and we're trying to uphold traditional Judeo-Christian values. The Washington Times is standing up for those values and fighting anything that would tear them down"

"There is even a daily newspaper—the Washington Times—published strictly for the movement's benefit, a propaganda sheet whose distortions are so obvious and so alien that it puts one in mind of those official party organs one encounters when traveling in authoritarian countries."

You need to tell yoyo that you found a source even worse than "World Net Daily". He'll be jealous. Well done, Lumpy!

Re: “Why Don't We Give Poor People the Incentives?

@Tracy: "Here's the thing, Yoyo-
We all know that trickle-down is crap. Combine it with the most regressive tax system in the country and it's downright criminal."

I just explained how it did work. What's your take on the $4 million? It benefitted no one? That money mowed a lot of yards and tipped a lot of waiters but I'd like to hear where you think it disappeared to.

It wasn't Donna who mentioned Norway, it was I. You have a habit of dismissing facts and evidence that don't support your ideology. You might want to look up the definitions of "Nazism" and "fascism" and quit blaming conservatives as progressive liberals and socialists are the force behind government control that is gradually choking the freedom from our country. (Witness ACA, EPA.)

BTW, our nation is the proud possessor of the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world so you stop griping about that.

Now go back and explain your take on the $4 million. What happened to it? It paid no salaries? Bought no cars? Wasn't used to buy presents for the kids? C'mon, you gotta tell us where the money went.

Re: “Why Don't We Give Poor People the Incentives?

I agree with concerned above. Developers are getting enough, too many, incentives already. The state legislature's meddling should be reversed and control over development, including impact and other fees, returned to local governments. As it is, existent taxpayers are subsidizing developers' profits, including picking up tabs for infrastructure the developers should pay for.

Local govs could put moratoriums on development until the right kind of housing gets built.

Some "affordable housing" ends up being eyesores that detract from their surroundings. Other, older affordable housing gets surrounded by bad zoning changes and decisions -- Wal-Mart adjacent to one's backyard -- that destroy property values and quality of life and start the neighborhood on a downhill slide.

Good, attractive, affordable housing can be built, and the incentive should be moratoriums, with local communities in control and deciding what they need and want in terms of growth.

Re: “Why Don't We Give Poor People the Incentives?

OK, Brainless,

You "spout" leftist ideology.

Anyway, here is a good critique of the massive trilion dollar failed war on poverty. Read it everyone.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/s…

Where did the money go other than the usual leakage on its way to the poor. There are social workers, little buses for the feeble, grief counselors, black ministers, all the various NGO's sucking on the tit of gov't largess, a long list. So, what happens to the poor at the end of the day, nothing and they are still poor with now a large dose of violence, murdering their own..

Re: “#MayoralChatter: Megan Barry, David Fox, and the Karl Dean Problem

I love how Berry was for the demise of the fairgrounds before she was against it. Is there anything that she disagreed with Karl on - she backed the demise of the fairgrounds, she backed the convention center, she backed the AMP, she backed the flood wall... We have term limits for a reason, to get new people with new ideas in position of leadership so we don't have to put up with political machines like we did in the old Fate Thomas / Richard Fulton / Bill Boner days. We still have to endure them in the metro offices (judges, clerks, etc.).

The Amp is old news, my friend. I lived it and supported it. Still do as we are still in process towards public transit.
