Re: “After 10 years, the Night Train to Nashville keeps rollin'

In order to properly use irony here, the statement would have to have a clear opposite meaning. Your objective remains opaque, so any potential irony is lost. All we have here is a sarcastic sounding note with a red flag at the end.

Re: “Tom Hiddleston, Rodney Crowell, Marc Abraham Attached to Hank Williams Biopic I Saw the Light

1964's 'Your Cheatin' Heart' was made with Hank Williams' widow's input/approval, which pretty much defined how he and several notable events surrounding his life and music were portrayed, particularly the New Year's Eve ride in the back seat of the chauffeured Cadillac.

Wonder if the estate has a similar input/approval overview on this new bio movie?

Matthew McConaughey??? Although i like him he does not have the depth to take on that role...I understand Hank 3 having his own pick, but i disagree....

Re: “Tom Hiddleston, Rodney Crowell, Marc Abraham Attached to Hank Williams Biopic I Saw the Light

Tom Hiddleston is an incredible actor who cares deeply about any character he portrays. He will do Hank justice in ways no one else could. Add Crowell to oversee the music and it will be beyond amazing.

Re: “Did You Hear? Hans Condor Allegedly Broke Up

My band played with Hans Condor in Denver. We played right before them and I didn't get a chance to hear the first few songs thanks to moving our gear out of the way, but by the end my jaw was on the floor. Sad to hear they are done.

Re: “Planning on Catching Ray LaMontagne at Fontanel Tomorrow? Be Sure to STFU!

Fan-bashing Lamontagne should co-headline a tour with fan-slapping Tim McGraw. How much would those pit tickets go for?!

It will be epic - it's all Tom knows how to do. Besides, I'd rather know what Hank Jr. has to say about all of this

Tom Hiddleston can do anything. Just give him a chance. Sit back and watch.

Tom is a brilliant actor who literally morphs into his roles. The combination of Crowell, Hiddleston and Hank Williams makes this women very very happy.

Re: “Planning on Catching Ray LaMontagne at Fontanel Tomorrow? Be Sure to STFU!

If he thought that was bad, wait until he gets to Chastain in Atlanta.. I mean "Chat-stain".

I also agree with his feelings, just not his conduct.

Re: “Planning on Catching Ray LaMontagne at Fontanel Tomorrow? Be Sure to STFU!

what a c***sucker! this is the pinnacle of "self-importance" - like, if there's a single person not moved to tears by my tired blues dirge, I'm throwing my toys out of the crib! total pussy behavior, and anyone who "would applaud" such a tantrum is in dire need of bitch-slapping and some serious perspective.
yes, there are inconsiderate jerks in the audience - but i think it's the responsibility of the crowd to police itself. be an adult and politely reason with them - if that fails, publicly shame them by calling an usher over.
hopefully this Tracy Chapman wannabe has been banned at the Ryman, though... like someone else said - it's a church. be respectful, even if your performance isn't blowing everyone away

Re: “Planning on Catching Ray LaMontagne at Fontanel Tomorrow? Be Sure to STFU!

QWERTY: If you're at the Ryman for a show, go out in the lobby if you feel compelled to yammer or just wait for the breaks between songs. Seriously. Enjoy yourselves where you're not subjecting others to your inane blather. The Ryman ain't Bonnaroo. It's a church. Act as if.

Re: “The newly reunited Jurassic 5 and the struggle to keep hip-hop alive

Glad to hear this from someone around here. I came from a place with three separate hip hop stations that played pretty distinct styles of the genre. They weren't all playing the same things. I figured Nashville wouldn't have three, but I hoped for at least one. After all is this The Music City or The Country Music City? I was disappointed to find that the one "urban" station here only plays pop music that has been influenced in some slight way by hip hop.

Re: “Ray LaMontagne finds new direction and outlook chasing a Supernova

This article gives some insight to why I didn't recognize him in this new promotional photo. He looks so much younger now than in his first images. His music really hit me when I was in college when he was first playing on Lightening 100 with the Trouble album, and reminded me of my favorite- Van Morrison. That confidence struggle for artists is very real and relatable.

Re: “Planning on Catching Ray LaMontagne at Fontanel Tomorrow? Be Sure to STFU!

I completely agree, some people can get very annoying during shows. It seems to happen a lot at the Ryman. I am also sick of people in front of me holding up their phones during the entire show. It's distracting. Take a picture, but don't make a movie. Talk between songs, but everyone paid to hear the artist, not your drunk mouth. Be respectful of others.
