Re: “The Black Belles' Olivia Jean to Release Jack White-Produced Debut Solo LP Oct. 14

If you watch her live videos on youtube, she sounds terrible. Her voice cracks.
Just a product of Jack's casting couch. Gross.

Re: “Parts and Labor: Where to Get My Turntable Repaired?

@fairydreamerlm - looks like a pretty old thread you posted too and not sure you got an answer already somewhere else. If not, I've had good luck in Nashville with Hi Tech Service. I think they're mentioned with address at top of the thread. I've taken several vintage pieces there and they've been quick and reasonable.

Re: “Photo of the Week: Jack White Bros Down with Paul Simon and Eddie Vedder at Seattle Mariners Game

Love Seattle. The only city for which I'd leave Nashville, no questions asked.

You couldn't be the weirdest person on the block in that town if you tried. And unlike here, where each precious snowflake endeavors to broadcast their existence, most folks just want to be left alone. The weather is awesome: high of 60, low of 40 basically year-round (I like rain, tho). The Puget Sound is great, and you're between two beautiful mountain ranges.

Honestly Jack would be much happier there...

Re: “Jamey Johnson: The Cream Interview

This is a great article that shows Jamey Johnson's individualism and his genius for his art. He is correct in that one's talent has to be from within. I have had the good fortune of seeing him in concert several times. Every time is different and leaves one with a real sense of excitement for his craft. Keep making music!
Kentucky Loves you!
Sa
P.S. I LOVE the band too!

Paul & Linda McCartney in a classic episode before she died.

Re: “Lunchtime Poll: What's the Best Band Cameo in Simpsons History?

Wasn't exactly a cameo but Yo La Tengo doing the Simpsons theme during the end credits was pretty cool.

Re: “Dead/New Venue Alert: East-Centric Pavilion Is Now Pavilion East [Updated]

The East-Centric Folks did a brilliant job at building this place from nothing. It takes years to get a business going - they did all the ground work meking it easy for someone else to walk in and take over, inheriting events previously booked. I know that East-Centric put everything they had into making the pavilion into a great community space despite forces against. But good luck to everyone as we all move into the future. :-)

The Who.

Roger Daltrey (from the stage in rock star mode): "How you doin', Springfield?"
Marge Simpson: "A little chilly."

Re: “Slipknot (and Korn) to Play Bridgestone Arena Nov. 21; Also, Slipknot's Singer Is a Talented Comedian

Those vids are great--you're right, dude, he is pretty funny. He seemed so polite on "Sound City", I wouldn't have expected the shit talking; but entertainment is entertainment, I suppose.

You people commenting are a bunch of assh*les. Seriously, you have no clue about Jack's private life.

"Sue"

It's also not called "Let's shit on Olivia Jean because she's more beautiful than we'll ever be, and she has Jack White, dammit!".

Lol.

Re: “The Black Belles' Olivia Jean to Release Jack White-Produced Debut Solo LP Oct. 14

Hey Jarrod,

This Nashville Cream blog entry is not called "Lovers of Olivia Jean Unite" and last time I checked Nashville Cream is not her site either. I don't know where you got that idea. This place is open to people who have good, bad, or indifferent opinions about her album. There is no reason for people who are expressing negative opinions to leave.

Guest #111

Her singing voice is the worse thing about her. A song can have the best instrumentation in the world, but if the vocals make me cringe then I don't want to listen to it.

Re: “The Black Belles' Olivia Jean to Release Jack White-Produced Debut Solo LP Oct. 14

@Sue
Even if Karen could have put out an album had she not married Jack White (but I doubt it), it would not have been anywhere near as good. Jack White put her band together and made it the awesome album that it was. It would have probably gone in a completely different musical direction without him. But I doubt it would have happened for her had she not married him. Because it DIDN'T happen until she married him.
