Re: “Chef Dale Levitski Leaves Sinema; Chef Patterson and Chef V Promoted

What do Dale Levitski, Deb Paquette, Jeremy Barlow, Andy Hunter, Laura Wilson and Jessica Benefield have in common? Collectively they represent 7 of the 8 Iron Fork winners and, for one reason or another, none of them was working at the restaurant where they were when they won within two years. And now two of this year's contestants have left their restaurants between being invited to compete and the actual event. The Iron Fork Curse continues. (Be careful, Hal Holden-Bache!)

Re: “First Bite: Corner Asian Cafe

The Concord Road iteration has been there for many years already and can be very crowded on weeknights as well. Their more adventurous and spicy dishes are quite good. I am very fond of their mapo tofu and spicy cumin beef dishes.

Re: “First Bite: Corner Asian Cafe

I love this place. It is odd that a couple of the items in the vegetarian section say "contains some pork." My go-to's are the better-than-average Americanized stuff, particularly the Singapore Rice Noodles and the Thai Curry, but it's good to know the Chinese menu is there for when I'm feeling adventurous.

Re: “Nashville's Top Restaurants Worth the Hassle

I agree that Cafe Rakka is great. The interesting thing about it is that it's not just straight Mediterranean / Middle Eastern - there's a lot of South Asian / Indian influence as well. The hummus is great and so is the tandoori chicken sandwich.

And I very much agree that Rae's is great, too. It is a tough place to get to if you don't work within walking distance downtown, but it's worth it. It's one of my favorite sandwich shops in town, and the guy making those sandwiches is awesome and loves his customers. If you're there on a Tuesday, get the shrimp po-boy.

Re: “Our intrepid wine columnist tests cabernet francs against pizza and post-midnight solitude

I am making $89/hour working from home. I never thought that it was legitimate but my best friend is earning $10 thousand a month by working online, that was really surprising for me, she recommended me to try it. You will lose nothing, just try it out on the following website.

Cafe Rakka is the best! Chef and his wife Linda are always welcoming. Delicious food, homemade cheeses. Although I moved away 5 years ago, I still go there any chance I get while in TN. Haven't found a replacement anywhere. Simply put ... one of a kind!

Rae's Sandwiches at the corner of 5th & Union. there's no nearby parking and they're only open M-F, 11-2, but it's worth the effort. go on Thursday when they've got beer cheese soup.

Re: “What'd You Eat This Weekend? Pancakes, Party Food and Pretty Much Everything on the Menu at Tacos y Mariscos Lindo Mexico

Little road trip down to Birmingham. Couldn't resist popping in to the newly-open Holler & Dash, a Cracker Barrel fast casual concept. I was cheered to see Brandon Frohne involved in developing the menu. Maybe a little pricey, but I appreciated the tight menu. Biscuits are nothing special, but the toppings were high quality. It was a good time for us and our one-year-old.

Cafe Rakka........the absolute best and worth the drive every time. We even grab an extra dish or two to go so we can have something to look forward to during the week!

Re: “Nashville's Top Restaurants Worth the Hassle

I've been to Phat Bites several times at the old location, and before DDD, and I still eat there today. I wouldn't say the quality of the food has changed at all. What specifically have you found to have changed for the worse, Joshua?

Re: “Nashville's Top Restaurants Worth the Hassle

Got to add Cafe Bosna in Hermitage to your list. Small non descript store front place. Doesn't look like much but the food is GREAT! Go for the Chevapi, the Beef Pie or the stuffed onions or peppers.

@Joshua Say it ain't so! It's been a couple of years. But the menu online is the same. I'll have to go check it out again soon.

Have you been to Phat Bites lately? It is decidedly not the same place, in the worst of ways.
