Re: “Crepe a Diem to Serve Up a Four-Course Dinner Party at POP

But I believe it's news that Crepe A Diem's Brittney Blackshear will be Crystal's sous chef at Iron Fork.

Did we ever get an Iron Fork competitor profile video from Crystal? Maybe I missed it, but I'd sure like to hear her talk some smack about the boys she's competing with!

Re: “Swallow, Don't Spit: 'Oil Pulling' Is a Crime Against Food

You say people waste food rather than eat it? I hope your an actively doing something to stop people from being so wasteful, since it seems your an advocate for it. Instead of just sitting in front of your computer writing about an issue you are clearly ignorant about and have never tried to disprove.

Re: “ Debuts New Delivery Service, and We Try It Out

I ordered from Lunch Craft yesterday. Great sandwich, delivered in a timely fashion, and they only exist on OrderUp's website. Excited to continue using this platform.

Re: “ Debuts New Delivery Service, and We Try It Out

We used to use GoWaiter all the time and it was really good for awhile, but then they lost one of our favorite restaurants (Judge's Vinegaroon) and our use dropped off. Then it seemed like they started losing restaurants right and left. So, we started using Doorstep Delivery. They have really expanded to a lot of restaurants, but I've always thought that their interface is not as good as GoWaiter's was, and I'm disappointed that they really only have one option for BBQ (Slow & Low, which we've tried a couple of times and just don't like). But, we still use them from time to time to get Chuy's or Cheesecake Factory delivered to our house in Green Hills. I'm sure I'll try OrderUp. I like the tracking.

Re: “Beer, Bacon, Burlesque: A Cautionary Tale

There are 5 lawsuits pending against Sean Clem, Tin Dog Tavern, Field House, and Hootenany Events . All of the plaintiffs in these cases are alleging that Sean committed fraud. His own lawyer filed a lawsuit alleging that Sean conducted business in a fraudulent manor. He also is facing a criminal charge for unlawful imprisonment that he has been fighting for over 2 years even though he has already admitted to the police and through texts that the incident did happen as the plaintiff has stated. He is a scumbag. This is all public record.

Re: “Have a Shuckin' Great Time at Saffire Oyster Tasting Party

Hi Saint, I checked in with Saffire and they told me that they had discontinued the oyster happy hour momentarily as there was some turnover in their shuckers - but it will be back soon M-F 3-6pm with Blue Points offered at $20/dozen or $2 each. Call ahead before you go again, but they should be able to set you right up!

Re: “New Downtown Taqueria Bajo Sexto's Opening Is Imminent

I'm excited to try it. But, this is the 3rd taco joint that's opened downtown in the past year or so. I think that's enough now.

Re: “What'd You Eat This Weekend? Brisket Tacos, Andouille Sausage and Oranges That Didn't Suck

I had a BFF visiting from out of town; we ate our way through Nashville. Friday night was etch, Saturday we hit up Clawson's Deli, Sunday was brunch at Sinema and dinner at Chauhan. Earlier in the week we also went to Lockeland Table, Fulin's, and Local Taco. Each and every meal was great -- it's hard to pick a favorite. Highlights of my choices were the famous cauliflower app at etch ... the citrus cake dessert at Lockeland Table ... the turkey crepedilla at Sinema ... the ham/brie sandwich at Clawson's ... "Desi fare" at Chauhan, where I picked chicken with the coconut curry sauce. (The sushi at Fulin's was good, too ... I just can't remember the name of the roll I picked.)

So now if y'all will excuse me I'm going to live on tea and toast for a few days ...

Re: “Have a Shuckin' Great Time at Saffire Oyster Tasting Party

Back in December you wrote about the Southern's oyster program coming south to Saffire. Being a Franklin resident. I was thrilled. You also mentioned a Monday through Friday oyster happy hour at Saffire. We went there for dinner in January and the server had no idea what we were talking about when we asked which oysters were on the happy hour menu. Cool, we got a couple dozen, some Wellfleets or Malpeques I think, probably some Bluepoints.
I just wonder if they ever decided to go ahead with the oyster happy hour thing. They're closed today and there's nothing on their website.

And here I thought Dickin's Cider was just an old dirty joke name from the Bob and Tom Show. Go figure.

Re: “Beer, Bacon, Burlesque: A Cautionary Tale

Similar thing happened this past weekend at the Franklin BrewFest. $45 tickets, sponsored by Lipman Brothers and was touted as a 3 hr event. Many of the vendors ran out of beer selections or all beer offerings completely within the first hour of the event. The samples that were given from the vendors that did have beer in their tents was by my best guesstimate 1 oz pours from, at times, warm bottles. I've tried to contact both the City of Franklin and Lipman with no response from either.

Re: “First Bite: Business Is on Fire at Smokin Thighs

Not impressed. Portions are small. Mac & Cheese tasted like canned cheese. Never refilled drinks while eating spicy food. Bartender was serving our table and extremely rude. I had hoped for better.
