Re: “Here's Your Volksfest Reminder

Hey @Veiner Fester, why don't you take a look at their website, there is a boat load of parking in and around the NFM and there is a great map! Plus Rhizome Productions is putting it on and they always run a tight ship. I believe when the NFM has private events the Flea Market is not there too. Went to the event last year at Centennial which was great, I think the NFM will be even better and they have added many new things to the fest. You should check out an event before you judge it!

Belle Chevre! We drive by their exit on the way to Mississippi and I've always wanted to turn off and try!

Re: “Here's Your Volksfest Reminder

At the Nashville Farmers market! Now, with less parking! Joy. And who gives a crap about the vendors in shed #1? I sure hope they are going to have a LOT of Porta potties - you only have 4 pots in the market sheds, and I'd rather pee on the lawn than go into those. I guess I'll go get my produce today...

Re: “Wurst News: We Bid Farewell to Viener Fest

Food started out great - as good as any I had in other cities - but then it just turned into bar food. Must be a hazard of being so close to Vandy. Not surprised at all it closed as we stopped going there years ago. They couldn't even get the spaetzle right.

Great patio & staff. The food just wasn't good. I was very disappointed.

Awww. This makes me sad. We had good meals there. Such a cozy, friendly place.

Re: “The Weekly Open Thread: Do Food Ethics Affect Your Eating Habits?

This is a really interesting topic. For me, at times what I think is referred to as ethics is really more personal beliefs. I may not go to an establishment because I don't care for the owner or the service but, that really doesn't have anything to do with ethics. Also, how is it somehow more ethical to eat organic than not? Certainly it is ethics when we refuse to consume endangered species but, what are the ethics to sustaining huge populations of herd animals with only one purpose, become food for another species (us)? I know I don't have the answer...

Re: “Tickets Now on Sale for Southern Artisan Cheese Festival — Plus a Giveaway

There are too many cheesemakers I'm excited to try, but after perusing their websites, I'd say I'm really eager to try the Georgia Gouda from Sweet Grass Dairy!

Prodigal Farm! It's wonderful that they were able to raise enough funds to purchase more farming space = more cheese! Yay! :)
