Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘That’s Me Without You’

Still in tears laughing over every mention of Luke's horse factory. I thought Luke's '90s ponytail and Layla's "live" Children of the Corn crazy eyes were highlights of this episode. I need to make a list of all the Scarlett metaphors you've created-- each one is more hilarious than the last. She looked weird to me in this episode like she'd had some subtle work done on her face. Like everyone else I missed this show because I missed these hysterical recaps! Jan Brady, the Los Angeles Gay Men's Chorus and Empire Records mentioned in the same piece-- brilliant. Ashley Spurgeon be my friend.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘That’s Me Without You’

I've bookmarked this site on my phone so on Thursday mornings I can read the recap before my feet hit the floor. It's that good.

As a native nashvillian I love your 'tain't description of the Florida Georgia line. Fantastic.

Flor-Ala is the area we drive through on our way to the Panhandle (the actual town is Florala). Never been to the bar, but the photos I've seen suggest a different but nearby anatomical locus.

You are MY spirit animal. I hope the show goes for 10 more seasons, I need more Scarlett descriptions! "a ladybug suffocating to death in cupcake frosting but somehow happy about it". I literally woke this morning wondering how you'd describe her. LOVE

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘That’s Me Without You’

Haha! Yes, the guy's name was Cletus (as seen on his monogrammed mechanic shirt), he was in a run down garage, but he had a Square card reader on his iPhone for payment!

Also, so close, but the Flora-Bama is the marginally famous bar at the state line.

I love these recaps so much. I think I look forward to them more than the show!

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘That’s Me Without You’

It has been brought to my attention on Twitter that the mechanic wore a name tag that said "Cletus." I will cut a check for a million dollars this afternoon.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘That’s Me Without You’

So pumped these recaps are back. I don't even bother with the show anymore because the recaps are the best part. You rock, Ashley!

Hilarious. NASHVILLE is the slow motion train wreck that I can't seem to stop watching.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘That’s Me Without You’

Yeah, but for someone who claims never to read anything that doesn't take place in a Victorian drawing room, you sure do a pretty mean approximation of Pynchon-esque riffing.

Haha yeah whoops sorry, you know me, always missing those Kieslowski references.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘That’s Me Without You’

Not just SLIDING DOORS, but the movie the Belcourt showed last weekend that obviously inspired it. Krzysztof Kieslowski's BLIND CHANCE, bitches!

Oh, and this may be the funniest recap I've ever read of anything. Wait for Alabama to chime in: "Flor-Ala: America's True Taint."

A little snark for a soap can be fun. This piece was just nasty. I'd rather listen to (gag) Florida Georgia Line than read your recaps.

Re: “Salon@615's Fall Season Starts with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Connie Britton, Sept. 20

I attended Saturday's Salon@615 with Kirsten Gillabrand. I enjoyed the time listening to Kirsten. I however only heard about 2/3 of what she said because of the speaker system. I have very high tech hearing aids. If I adjusted them to high I could hear the words "bouncing off the walls". I think the quality of the lecture would have been MUCH better, especially for me and other hearing impaired folk, if she had a microphone on her lapel.

If the sound system is not improved I will not be willing to spend this much money for another lecture and that makes me very sad.

l read about the lecture in the newspaper.
