Guess the headline was too subtle. It's at 7 p.m., to be precise.

Re: “Highballs & Hydrangeas Tonight at Cheekwood: 55,000 Tulips Can't Be Wrong

This post fails to mention when the event is being held. Yes I realize that information is available by following the link, but on its own this blog post is incomplete.

Re: “Nashville Comedy Longread: Sean Maloney in Splitsider

I wish there were more of a camaraderie between the local music/local comedy crowd. Personally, I think Fletcher and the rest of the Corporate Juggernaut crew are doing amazing things for comedy in Nashville, and kudos to The High Watt for opening their doors and offering an alternative to Zanies (nothing wrong with Zanies--they just don't feature as many local acts).

Unfortunately, the poor attendance problem is hardly limited to comedy; I see the same thing at nearly all the good rock shows I go to in Nashville (even on Friday/Saturday nights). I'm sure all the boring cock-rock bands have great turnouts, so I can understand the resentment--but that same resentment is present in the fringe indie-rock scene, as well. If anything, it should be a reason for the music/comedy worlds to band together, in mutual distaste for the mainstream.

I think there should be a Nashville/Murfreesboro underground music/comedy festival, somehow someday. That would be the shit.

Re: “Nashville Comedy Longread: Sean Maloney in Splitsider

Great post. I really would love to get involved in the Nashville stand up scene. I found some talented comedians in the city while performing at open Mic nights, so I know there's plenty of talent out here!!!

Re: “Belcourt Adds Digital Projection, But 35mm Isn't Going Anywhere

There's an entire section of Mark Kermode's "The Good, The Bad, & The Multiplex" dedicated to this particular subject. It's a pretty fascinating read.

"Archer Live, a touring show featuring the cast of FX's..."

More accurately, 5/9ths of the cast.

Hot yoga sounds like torture. I need to find a cold yoga studio.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘I Saw the Light’

Ashley,

Every week I run (with my little fingers) to this spot, as soon as Nashville's over, knowing you've had two hours to write before I see it on the West Coast. Wonder what it's like to know folks are waiting for you to hurry up and post your dang column RIGHT NOW because it's always so stinkin' funny. Your descriptions of Scarlett make me snort and cry and shove my face into a pillow so I won't wake up the house. Every time. Seriously. You are right up there with what's-her-name from Vanity Fair (with the Downton Abbey recaps). I'm one of the old original Scene "permalancers" from way back when and you're doing us proud. Kick it, sister.

Re: “Quilting Project: A Visit to Stitch

I am a fairly new quilter. I love every second of it. I noticed the comment you made about the thing on the wall that holds your fabric to it. I purchased a tablecloth last fall on clearance for about $4.00. It had the felt on the backside of it. I tacked it up on my wall in my sewing room and it works great. It is very large, so I folded it in half, but for the times I am working on a real big project, I can always open it up to its' full size. I had a quilt top hanging on it that was about a twin bed size and it stayed up without pins. I love it!
