Re: “Drugs Unnecessary for Altered States Tonight at Belcourt

I saw it as a college student in 1980, too, but I was acid-free. As the headline says, no drugs were necessary.

P.S.: Look for 5-year-old Drew Barrymore in her film debut.

Re: “The seventh president gets the musical parody treatment in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at Street Theatre Company

Ha - me too, but not from the play. It inspired me to go read up on AJ some more. Of course everyone knows about the trail of tears and impregnating slaves, but I wanted to go see how much of the other stuff is accurate.

after seeing BBAJ I learned more about AJ than I did in (Metro public) school

Re: “Private Lives of Nashville Wives Recap: ‘Get Out’

This show is AWFUL. Full of hype and mistruths. For one thing, Gary Chapman, God bless him, has not been a "music mogul" for years. Give us a break. Yeah, we have Cassie Chapman crying away that her husband must work a full time job now. Well, uh, excuse me, but they haven't exactly lived in poverty considering he hasn't had a full time job in YEARS. I'm sorry, I know what I'm saying sounds cruel, but I guess I'm at the point where I can't stand these hyped up, untruthful, so-called "reality shows." Yeah, right. Amy Grant got it right when she admitted (after doing her charity work "reality" show a few years ago), that once you get in front of the camera, all "reality" is dead. Please, no more reality shows for me!

Re: “Private Lives of Nashville Wives Recap: 'Bright Lights, Big City'

As a sincere Christian artist, the truly difficult thing is how sad and utterly painful it is to watch Gary Chapman portray to the world that Christian musicians he hung with "back in the day" were insincere, arrogant, partying cocaine addicts...He was a father, and had the privilege of being married to Amy Grant and representing Christian music leadership hosting Dove Awards shows, etc, etc...but he squandered every gift from God that was laid before him. Now he wants sympathy for losing Amy and his music carear ...after 20 years of partying like a child, enjoying great prestige and endless money....he is SO sad all that arrogance and hypocrisy had to end! And he just wants the stage back!!!! Boohoo!!! Still a child. Cry, cry baby.

Re: “Double Flip: Picking Fights with TV Guide's 10 Best TV Shows of All Time

I would put The Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, LOST, and Battlestar Galactica (2005) in the Top Ten.

I LOVE Britt Robertson! I so hope she will be one of the folks coming for the festival.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘Guilty Street’

All I could think of during the car sex scene was how the dashboard lighting really paid a great tribute to Meatloaf's karaoke classic.

Re: “I Drove Four Hours to See a Movie: A Veronica Mars Story

I was wondering why the name Carrie Raisler sounded familiar, only to realize you review TVD on the AV Club! Excellently, BTW. Nerdily pleased to hear you're local!

I watched the first season of VM when it aired and am rewatching/finishing the series before the movie comes to the Belcourt. Great show.

Re: “I Drove Four Hours to See a Movie: A Veronica Mars Story

I flew five and half hours from another country to see the LA premiere. I am glad I am not the only crazy (but entirely happy and satisfied) person :-) Yeah us!

Re: “Flipping Channels: Goodbye to Psych, More True Detective Rumors

Psych was a great show. A show that is always funny and always fresh is great.

Re: “Private Lives of Nashville Wives Recap: ‘Get Out’
