Re: “12South Institution Katy K Closing

This is what happens when you don't support local business. Nashville if you frequented the shop more I bet she'd just find another place to set up shop.

I'm glad she called out those that talk the talk but don't walk the hell in the shop and buy something.

Re: “12South Institution Katy K Closing

Its very unfortunate that Ms. Kattelman has chosen to disparage the owners of the building that kept her rent artificially low for years in an effort to keep a creative and novel Nashville institution open. There was no conversation about a doubling of rent. Rather, Ms. Kattelman told the owners that she planned to retire and leave the business to move to Detroit.

Its also very troubling that Ms. White made no effort to reach out to the property owners in an effort to get their take on this. Instead, a simple end to a business relationship is used as fodder to support the larger narrative of sky high rents pushing the little guy out.

No good deed goes unpunished and this story is a testament to this.

Good luck Katy-you truly are a pioneer and you will be missed.

Re: “12South Institution Katy K Closing

I knew Katy in New York and have visited her store in Nashville. She is truly one of a kind. I love her optimism about her new life. Come to South Side Chicago, Katy! It's all happening!

Be careful what you wish for! Growth and "progress" also mean that we are at risk for having a homogenized city. Make way for more condos and skinny houses! Line the pockets of the developers who go unchecked, while stepping on the little guy! This sucks.

Re: “Review: Laurie Anderson Works Mesmerizing Magic at OZ Nashville

Cool! You managed to be condescending about Nashville audiences twice in 2 articles about the same show.

Re: “#SolidGoldClit: Giant Clitoris Statue Unveiled at Sewanee

This is fabulous! The world is full of penis statues, towers and missiles. Lets bring on the Women's side of things. I can't wait to go see it. It looks so touchable...

I loved THEN WE CAME TO THE END — for a while I pressed that novel on everyone I knew. Still maybe the best workplace novel I've read.

Megan, I don't know where they got them, but yesterday i saw a friend wearing lavender sloth socks. I am not a sock person, but even i was tempted to steal them off their feet.

I hear Italian beef sandwiches travel really well, as do deep dish pizzas. No? We'd better put it to the test.

Re: “Oscar Nominee Leviathan Opens Today at Belcourt

I saw, and enjoyed, The Return years ago when it showed at the Belcourt. Maybe I'll crawl out of my gnomehole for Leviathan.

Re: “Oscar Nominee Leviathan Opens Today at Belcourt

Supposedly the film was inspired by an event in the U.S.:
