Re: “UPDATE: Private Lives Tanks in Ratings, Still Puts Out Casting Call

I have Tivo so I was able to easily skip the boring parts - which were basically most of the parts that didn't include the twins Betty and Anna. It was almost as though there were two shows. One, a tacky and boring reality show with uninteresting characters, and then another, a fish-out-of-water, Miami chicks in Hillbilly Land do comedy skit. The scene of those two trying to get a dead pig out of a pick-up truck was nothing less than classic. We laughed out loud, literally. And then it cut back to what seemed like the obligatory profile clips for American Idol contestants. I will watch again though to see what the twin do next.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘They Don’t Make ‘Em Like My Daddy Anymore’

Not to mention Deacon got pretty upset by some crowd-favorite, local-lightning, top-billing, last-minute-booking band, The Tail Feathers.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘They Don’t Make ‘Em Like My Daddy Anymore’

Yeah, this one was not the best. Tandy and Rayna cranked up their tantrum cries to 11 and it seemed forced and hokey. Juliette forgot that she hates Rayna and acted all kind of sads. Also, Juliette as f*ed up Christina Aguilara was kind of hilarious. Scarlet is a weak link, and has been from the get go. The Kewl Kids did sound pretty great though, you have to admit. Scarlet has been a weak link from the jump. Someone needs to prune that daisy.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘They Don’t Make ‘Em Like My Daddy Anymore’

A few thoughts:

When Deacon has to do that gig, he asks Gunnar, Zoey and Avery to play with him. When he's actually doing the gig, there are like five more people onstage, including a banjo player. WTF?

It reminds me (sort of) of the old Elvis story. He's filming a movie, and he's on a motorcycle singing to his woman seated behind him on the bike. As the legend goes, Elvis says, "I want backup vocals." To which the director says, "You're on a motorcycle singing to your girl. It doesn't make sense to have backup singers. Where are they?"

To which Elvis replies, "Same place as the damn band." Or something like that.

Finally, is the acting getting worse, or is it just me? I mean Tandy's crying, and Rayna's tantrum at the end seemed particularly lame.

Perhaps Wendy summed it up best: "I feel like I'm watching a Bart Durham commercial."

There's also a Satrom/Briz-led glitch art show Saturday night at Track One during Arts & Music @ Wedgewood/Houston:

"At 9 p.m. the warehouse will transform into a massive multimedia experience. The show will explore digital culture, glitch art, hacking, remix culture, and experimental new media. Morgan is seeking Nashville electronic and experimental musicians and video-makers to perform."

Re: “Private Lives of Nashville Wives Recap: 'Bright Lights, Big City'

I think this description is more than fair..... Every person in the cast seemed to be pimping out themselves or their husband. I don't think it will make it past one season but then again ppl love a trainwreck so you just never know.

Re: “UPDATE: Private Lives Tanks in Ratings, Still Puts Out Casting Call

Ahhhh (*big stretch*).... I just woke up from the sleep coma that, "Private Lives of Nashville Wives" put me in earlier this week. Talk about a disappointing snooze-fest. My life as a stay-at-home mom who spends her days cleaning the house in old sweatpants and a shirt with a hole in the armpit, is more exciting than this group of social climbers. Was so looking forward to watching a reality show based here in Nashville, and it was a major let-down. I actually stopped watching it a little more than halfway through…to go work on my taxes. It was that bad.

"What-happened-a-year-ago-TV" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Re: “Private Lives of Nashville Wives Recap: 'Bright Lights, Big City'

I thought everyone was really talented, interesting, and very sincere. A little about me; my all-time favorite album is Slippery When Wet, I think Larry The Cable Guy rocks, and my most embarrassing moment was "the chicken wings incident" at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill.

Re: “UPDATE: Private Lives Tanks in Ratings, Still Puts Out Casting Call

The weirdest coincidence is the fact that Sarah seems to have moved in across the street from us. But when they showed her home, it had a pool out back. Um... no it doesn't. No pool. Weird. Turns out, reality TV isn't all that real at all. Who knew?
