Re: “Justice or Vandalism? You Make the Call

A well delivered fart would have been the ideal solution.

My head says: Of course he shouldn't have thrown the woman's phone across the room. My heart (or something) says: Good for him.

If she brings criminal charges against him, he should bring charges against her for assault.

Re: “Two Years After the Fairgrounds Fight, Things Are Still ... Awkward

There's one simple way to eliminate Dean's distrust by vendors: have a complete & open audit by an independent auditor. Has this even been done?

I find it hard to believe the Fairgrounds has/is losing money, especially now that Dean is charging $5 per car just to park there.

As for all those pie in the sky dreams about development, has anyone taken a drive around the back side of the Fairgrounds & scoped out the neighborhood? Not exactly Belle Meade back there, folks. Not even Antioch, for that matter.

A quick & surefire way for the city to save $$ on the Fairgrounds is to use Metro prisoners to clean the grounds & bldgs. But Metro won't do this, even with DUI folks working off their public service hours. Why? Go ask Metro because it makes too much sense to me.

Dean is hellbent on selling the Fairgrounds & he's doing everything he can to make it happen. This is DESPITE the charter REQUIRING the Fairgrounds to host a state fair each & every year. As Yogi Berra said, you can look it up.

If this is the Kevin Williamson who wrote the SCREAM movies and created DAWSON'S CREEK, he's already hastened civilization's demise. With a foot on the accelerator.

Re: “Kermit Gosnell Doesn't Prove Your Abortion Point. Yours Either.

Why are you quibbling over permission?

She didn't store the guns safely. That is what cost her life.

Where did you hear that, from the same source that insists he didn't use an AR-15?

Re: “Justice or Vandalism? You Make the Call

I'd love to see him taking the battery out of an iPhone.

Re: “Justice or Vandalism? You Make the Call

He should have gone to the manager and had them confiscate her cell phone.

Had they refused, he should have requested a refund.

One other option would be for him to have just taken the battery out of her phone and refused to return it unless she left.

That dog don't hunt. She was trying to get him committed, so why would she give him permission to handle her guns?

He STOLE them.

Re: “Turns Out the Music City Center Will Not Create Jobs for Goats

You guys can all have your little fun, but goats are no laughing matter! I lived throught the "Great Goat Scourge of 1998" in Woodbury and it was awful! It still gives me chills just thinking about it! All you people who lived in other places, all I can say is that you were very, very lucky!

Re: “Justice or Vandalism? You Make the Call

Zoombah, Alamo Drafthouse deals with phone-users very well--it kicks them out, no refund.

I tend to see movies at the Belcourt, where nobody uses their phone, so it's always a jolt when I go to a multiplex and people using their phones isn't even frowned on.

Re: “Turns Out the Music City Center Will Not Create Jobs for Goats

Maybe goats were part of the promised 30,000 new convention industry jobs?

Re: “Justice or Vandalism? You Make the Call

You don't respond to an asshole by being a bigger asshole. That's the kind of escalation that starts fights and gets people hurt.

Re: “Turns Out the Music City Center Will Not Create Jobs for Goats

And goats need jobs. Unemployed gangs of goats dressed in their goat gang colors and roaming the countryside install fear in our children and damage our puppy's self esteem. Employ the goats!
