Re: “Antioch is Beautiful

It kinda takes all the fun out of being satirical when you have to explain it.

Re: “Antioch is Beautiful

I think just sayin' was responding to Mark Rogers post in a satirical manner. Jeez, this is just too hard for some folks. Satire is defined as follows -
sat·ire
ˈsaˌtī(ə)r/
noun
the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
synonyms: mockery, ridicule, derision, scorn, caricature...

R-Suck......

I simply suggested we contact this out to some Muslims. They can handle the executions, even the cleanup, and I doubt give a good fuck what the SCENE thinks. Now I doubt the Muslims are worried about the right mix of fatal drugs to use but this not really the purpose is it?

Corrections Corp of America has made a good living doing this kind of work, well excepting the ugly part.

But their anchors are hot, republicans suck. That's how john likes his "news." Delivered by hot chicks. (He doesn't think that's stupid at all.) Propaganda is so much more palatable when delivered by a hot chick.

Re: “Antioch is Beautiful

We have happily lived in beautiful GREEN Antioch since 1998. We love all the trees, the close proximity to boating, hiking, fishing, and when we want to enjoy downtown festivities, it's a quick drive. We take walks in our neighborhood all the time, just like most of our neighbors. Our neighbors are hard working professionals like my husband and me, who are thrifty. We could have purchased a $350,000 home but chose instead to purchase a $130,000 home, like many of our friends. We chose to live here and love it. We are Caucasian but wanted our kids to grow up with friends of other races. I don't think anyone needs AMP, as it was proposed. I think we need to make improvements to MTA that will convince parents that their kids are safe on the buses. Traffic is so much better when school is out. Be sure to look around you while MNPS is out and see if rush hour is better for you. To me, every day that school is out is an easy drive to my job in Berry Hill.

Re: “The Daily Links: The Interview, Cuba, and Charlie Chaplin

The republicans are against communist Cuba but are perfectly ok with Communist China. China provides the cheap labor for the unpatriotic corporations of the US. Oh my am I saying that republicans are unpatriotic? I sure am!!!

Re: “The Question is Would Bill Haslam Put Someone Like Laurie Cardoza-Moore on the Textbook Commission?

OH PLEAZZZZZ! Grammar pales in comparison to the quality of the POV's being expressed. Granted in formal situations it has importance, but on this site, be happy you can not see the drool stains on the computer screen!

Re: “If There's No Shame in Executing People, Why Keep the Executioners Secret?

Mark Rogers:"Are you suggesting that there is as much of a chance someone will seek revenge on members of the Pharmacy Board or the commission that oversees hairdressers as that someone will seek revenge on the executioner of a family member or friend? "

The fact that anyone who seeks revenge is rather "of their beam", even to the point of insane. The reason for it is often immaterial. People kill for all sorts of reason.

Really.
NO! Really

Consistency in logic is a necessity for any cogent argument unless you qualify your reasoning. And you didn't.
Perhaps if we were more open about the Death Penalty, and as a state and tax payer sponsored activity we should be, such issues would be moot.
As I stated I am NOT entirely opposed to the DP, but I noticed you placed higher value on the life of a police officer and judge than a child or a mass killing. Confusing to me, though I am conflicted in the inclusion of judges and jurists. While I abhor any danger a LEO is in, that is in fact a character of their job. That being said they should be afforded every protection constitutionally available, but so should children. Strange that you did not mention them!
IMHO purveyors of mass murders (3 or more victims) should be just included in the DP dynamic, along with those who heinously murder born children.

Re: “The Question is Would Bill Haslam Put Someone Like Laurie Cardoza-Moore on the Textbook Commission?

Pragmatist.
You wish you could understand where the 's is springing up from (bad grammar). It is because Grammar is no longer being taught correctly in schools so people nowadays spray the ' around with no real understanding why and for what purpose it was intended.

Re: “As students and parents opt out of their zoned schools, will the system entice them to find their way back?

Thank-you for an excellent article Andrea.

Another case study would be the family of a fifth grader who has just moved to Williamson County. The Vanderbilt study you cited shows a bump in attrition in the fourth grade: could some of these be Meigs lottery losers or those who choose to remove themselves without even taking a chance on the lottery? You would have to ask.

You have noted that parents exercising choice in East Nashville have partially emptied some of the schools there. There is so much free space that MNPS could create another academic magnet middle and high school with no new construction. I suggest converting Gra-Mar MS and Maplewood HS. (q.v. http://goo.gl/akj0Vm ).

The arguments against creating another academic magnet typically cite diversity, transportation and starving the cluster high schools of honors and AP classes, never what is best for the student. The diversity argument is the most insidious: a single, secret complainant to the EEOC says Hume-Fogg fails to meet the MNPS diversity guidelines. I'll wager that the complainant simply wants a spot for their eligible child, wouldn't we all? Your article points out that Nashville itself fails to meet the MNPS diversity criteria and it will until many, many more wealthy white families move to Williamson County. Hume-Fogg looks just like Nashville; they are just luckier in lotteries I guess.

You have an exciting year ahead of you: the magnet school lotteries, the East Nashville choice plan, the hiring of a new schools director and the Mayoral election. Stay on top of public education Andrea. Thanks for being there for us.

Re: “If There's No Shame in Executing People, Why Keep the Executioners Secret?

Except that when a person is acting as an agent of the State, he is not acting independently of the law. The condemned criminal has had due process and it is up to the State to carry out the sentence. In a sense, we are all the executioners, because the person hired to carry out the sentence is acting on behalf of us. Like it or not.

Go mingle in a housing project in the early A.M.

Re: “Kevin Rosier — retired MMA fighter and bodyguard

Tammy Rosier where are you now and all of you who claim to know him and like him, where are y'all now???? I have been Kevin's nurse for over a year in Murfreesboro. Not one of his kids, brother, sister, or friends have visited him or called him. All Kevin wants is to see and spend time with his children which he isn't allowed to. Hey Tammy, brother the person who is so proud, why don't you visit your brother or any of the other people who claim to friend him. Kevin would love nothing more than to have people who love him and know him truly be in his corner and just spend some time with him. It breaks my heart to see him on a daily basis so lonely when he was so well known in the industry. So I ask, where are you all know?????

Re: “If There's No Shame in Executing People, Why Keep the Executioners Secret?

Isis and Al Queda has consultants they send to confused American prisons. They are not cheap but they will even do the job for you.

The problem is getting witnesses but I understand the Muslim communities will provide this needed service for a surprisingly low price,
