Your storytelling wakes up miriad genetc memories and mind pictures of my own Southern Hill Woman, my Granny Gray who passed in '48 and shared much with Tent Boy's Hill granny. We appreciate the the story. So happy you came into her sphere.

I remember this case vividly. For years, I assumed from the snippets on TV that she had runaway. Once I read more, I realized how I'd been most likely very wrong in that assumption.
I hope someone, somewhere, is able to connect the dots and get this family some closure.

And I pointed out repeatedly that the ones y'all have/had WEREN'T the ones preferred by drug dealers. And the usual suspects leapt to the usual kneejerk reactions.

This is Marilyn Greene Campbell and I have been following this thread. First I want to say that the reporter did an excellent job representing the information in a fair way. He spent time interviewing my husband and I and would have interviewed the prosecution if they let him. He spent ALL day at our sentencing hearing and attended a talk I gave about our situation. The guns were a BIG issue. We had guns as do many people in TN. We did not have guns to protect our plants which the judge ruled with our attorney's and we were given the safety valve which took the mandatory minimum sentence off the table. We were sentenced to the low end of the sentencing guidelines which is more in line to our non violent past and our almost 4 years of being on drug testing and pre trial probation without incidence. We had a lot of plants but more than half were under 3 inches. We harvested one table at a time months apart and possessed no more than the Federal Government sends to the Federal Medical Marijuana patients every 25 days.
If you want to help us please go the the Federal web site We the People and sign the petition that is posted there called Please don't send the Campbells to Federal Prison. We have proven that we can follow probation rules and would like to continue supporting ourselves rather than have the taxpayers support us.

If you want to avoid purchasing Ken Jakes' crappy trucked in produce--and who wouldn't?---or putting money in his fat pockets, don't shop at the end of the shed closest to the Capitol building. Local farmers and growers are on the side closest to the Market house building.

There is a place where the souls of lost children call out to us forever. One can only open their heart or stop up their ears. It's each person's choice. Each time I learn of something like this a prayer flies out before words ever form. However one comes to God or whatever name one has for the one watching all, let mercy rule.

I'm glad to know how I can keep shopping there but avoid putting any money in this Tea Party pigs pocket. I love all the farmer's markets and I do everything I can to support them. I've never been to AM@FM, but I will now.

There's still plenty of local produce there not supplied by this guy. Just don't buy anything with a sticker on it. Buy from Smiley's, Howell's and the other local farms (the signs will indicate which produce is local).

Come on guys, by seizing the guns the cops were trying to make the Campbells seem dangerous. However, 300 plants is evidence of a commercial operation. Either that or they know a lot of sick people.

Not so much "swallow" as to simply ignore, IMO. DA's are notorious for hysterical hand-waving exaggeration on firearms, in case you've not seen.

Surface parking lots do destroy the fabric of a city. Anyone who thinks a surface lot serves some type of purpose is simply ignorant, or lacks understanding of what the built form is all about. It is about connectivity, pedestrian space, human scaled architecture, and the personal relationship between the natural human form and the manmade built form.
Surface lots do nothing but exacerbate the urban blight that all major cities have. The lot would be better used as a park if no built form is suitable.
