Re: “The 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards Oh Balls

Nancy unfortunately well-crafted country music hasn't been a part of these types of proceedings for years so satire is theoretically the best response. Hook her up Spurgill

Re: “Nashville Rapper Haystak Arrested for Sexual Assault ... Again

Although I am late to this stream of comments I want to say that it is refreshing to see all of the people standing uP for J in their comments! Now a days I think more and more people everyday just "Co-Sign With A Headline" and start commenting and sharing other peoples published content that can be nothing but misconstrued myths and lies & published by the hating ass writer type of publisher! If you do not know and realize that J has made made mistakes in his life then you do not listen to nor do you hear what it is that he is sharing with you in songs!

Re: “The 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards Oh Balls

Hey Ashley,
Just a thought If you hate these award shows so much I would just love to go in your place next year. I'm disabled and cannot afford the expensive tickets that I am very sure you're probably comp-ed. I'm very sure they are great seats as well. I would be honored to go. I would write your article FOR YOU and I would Not bitch about it period. I would be positive, Yet straight fwd and honest in my review. I wouldn't even mention how long it was. I would just give every detail of what happened without saying or complaining about when is it ever going to end. I would thoroughly enjoy every minute of going and of writing the article. Please keep me in mind.
Thanks so much.
Nancy

Re: “Jack White Announces Pop-Up Acoustic Tour, Says He'll Stop Performing for a ‘Long Period of Time’

Looks like Seth Graves is finally drinking the Jack-White Koolaid. This guy called him a "guitar god" even jw would probably laugh at that. What a joke.

Hey Ashley! Missed you doing the Nashville recaps recently. The ACMs are unnecessary and pretend.

James Brown, Little Richard, Chuck Barry did it better.

Re: “The 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards Oh Balls

I for one thank her for watching them, so we can skip them and just read the recaps.

Works for me! Thanks, Ashley.

Any chance you can write a recap of the "Nashville Season 3 Wrap Party" at Acme the other night? That would be amusing... I sure hope they had the imagination to invite you.

Re: “The 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards Oh Balls

Ashley by now you should know all of the country music awards shows are going to be hoaky events. You should've watched the new episode of Game of Thrones, gone to bed early and got up early and had another great morning in middle TN, maybe taking a walk outside and enjoying all the great colors of spring and the wonderful songs of the songs birds.

Bottom Line: That stadium was built for football games.

Don't waste your precious time watching those hoaky awards shows man!

Re: “How a terrible worship song drove me from Christianity

What most people do not get is that connection to the Creator is not through religion. I have done away with "religion" eons ago, but never once thought of breaking my relationship with my Creator. That is as strong as ever. It is interesting what happens when you stop playing the religious game and actually connect with God. Read what He says in Scripture (ALL of it, not just the last quarter) and compare it to what religion says. pfffthth! When I quit church and started doing what He said, everything fell into place. I am praying for you.

Re: “Watch Jack White and Alan Stoker Prep Elvis' 'My Happiness' for Digital Transfer

Found an interesting video on youtube.com "They Sold Their Souls: Elvis Presley" which includes clips of Elvis and eye-witness accounts about him, his beliefs and the lifestyle he lived from guys that worked for him and he called his disciples of the Memphis Music Mafia.

I think video clips with Elvis in them can tell more of the truth about who he really was more than what anyone can talk about what they witnessed from being around him. Elvis did what he wanted to do and no one could help him change his lifestyle and that lifestyle is what killed him.

Actually it is strange that people still idolize him today.

In researching Elvis on the internet I also found out for the first time that he was a singer but not a songwriter. Elvis is given all the credit for the start of rock and roll music but none of the songwriters that wrote the songs that Elvis performed are getting credit for helping to start rock and roll music that I am aware of. That does not make sense to me. It seems like it is time to re-write rock and roll music history and give credit and recognition to all the songwriters that wrote and helped co-write the songs that made rock and roll music what it became. It shouldn't be about one singer who was a great singer, but by his own choosing, lived in his own hell and was a miserable person living the way he did.

The more research I have done on Elvis the worse his story is becoming. I knew it was bad but now I know it was really, really, really bad.

Re: “Nine Inch Nails w/Godspeed You! Black Emperor at Bridgestone Arena, 10/22/13

you're a douchebag. NIN can't hold a dick to Godspeed. You actually want a sideshow band of provocateurs like Marilyn Manson to play? Thanks god we don't have to hear shit like Manson and other shit bands like him. The only credit I'll give to Trent is that he actually had the decent enough taste in music to put GYBE on his tour so people could be exposed to something good and unique.

Re: “Billy Idol to Play the Ryman Sept. 18

While he may have been an icon for GenX, Mr. Idol, having been born in 1955, is a Baby Boomer.

If Third Man Records weren't here today, I wouldn't be in year 1 of a vinyl collection. Tomorrow would just be a day.
