Re: “Walter Roche Is Blogging

Or, more likely given his legacy, Democrats actually support civil rights.

Re: “Walter Roche Is Blogging

Barrett helped elect liberal Democrats who support bigger government and higher taxes. That his will complains about taxation is hypocritical. That he protests the estate tax, beloved of the left, is monstrous hypocrisy.

Re: “Veteran Suicides in Tennessee Increased in 2013

The VA hasn't always been particularly good about treating PTSD, but that is changing, and has changed.

My family, which includes combat veterans, gets very good care from VA.

Re: “Walter Roche Is Blogging

Was that what George Barrett championed, higher taxes for the wealthy, except for him? Because I missed that part of his work.

Or is the accuser just being intellectually slothful?

Re: “Veteran Suicides in Tennessee Increased in 2013

Veterans having faced combat carry burdens that can never be understood by the average man on the street. What the VA has almost always done is drag their feet in treatments of PTSD. Readjustment to "normal" society, where ability is not so much prized as social status is, and combat sacrifice is looked upon as freakish, a curiosity to be revisited for the amusement of others. Another in the growing line of Great American Tragedies and Failures.

A tip for veterans: if you call the 800-273-8255 number and press 1, you will get veteran-specific assistance.

Why would they want a judge who can't eat the crust? That doesn't make any sense.

Re: “Veteran Suicides in Tennessee Increased in 2013

Quick search shows veteran suicides at a rate of 35 to 40 per 100,000. General population (males) at 18. Females at 4.

Re: “Veteran Suicides in Tennessee Increased in 2013

I hope this is not a consequence of the problems with the VA system. Regardless, this information needs to be widely published to be sure veterans know where to go to get the help they need and deserve.

Re: “The Daily Links: Vaccines, Deadmau5, and Hunter S. Thompson

yoyojohn: I realize you're not that perceptive, but my comments on grammar were directed at Diatribean!! who was acting honestly kinda like you and all your persona's by viciously insulting and attacking me. He/she/it went all grammar Nazi on me, and I apologized for my grammatical mistakes before she fire bombed my hut! As for everything else, I basically stand bu my opinion that you are greatly flawed, in most every way, and for all the usual reasons. Other than that, I am sure you are good to your mother and a peachy keen guy.

Jeeez, the paranoia of these wing nutz!

"No, I certainly did not accuse of Clinton raping anyone. Did you miss the question mark?"

Lame?

You will note that I said nothing about your answer.

Re: “12South's poultry-heavy soda shop The Flipside has potential, but it needs more than cute decor

This place pissed me off to no end. I work down the street and walked down for lunch. I asked the bartender what their favorite thing was. I ended up with a soggy piece of flattened out chicken on white bread with ketchup on it. They even forgot the pickles which wouldn't have saved the dish either. The fries were boring and the milkshake was exactly as described. The worst part of it? It was basically a $25 lunch. It's downright shameful. This place seems nothing more than a rich person/investor who knows nothing about the restaurant business who sunk tons of money designing a beautiful and hip building but decided that their 3am drunk food would be perfect and should be the only thing on the menu. Until they hire a real chef with a real menu I'm going to avoid this place like the plague.

Re: “The Daily Links: Vaccines, Deadmau5, and Hunter S. Thompson

For Prag,

No, I certainly did not accuse of Clinton raping anyone. Did you miss the question mark?

Certainly others did. Paula got $700K but she wanted her teeth fixed and who can blame her.

The feminists/media got some others back then, but they were conservatives; names escape me. Remember an older authority figure cannot get a BJ from a young intern. That is laid in stone... well, unless you are WJC.

For JC/Pinnochio,

See, I told all not to worry over grammar style/spelling. No harm, no foul. Have you not called me to task over something; was it the recent Chanee thing or my met/meet mistake?

It is wrong for the POTUS to go on national TV and lie. And, he went there to lie. In its way that is worse.

Prag,

Used to be an old college ditty....

"Found a diamond in the dung and decided a Beta he must be...."

Might you consider that?

Re: “The Daily Links: Vaccines, Deadmau5, and Hunter S. Thompson

you don't "automatically" lose your job in the NFL for hitting a woman. I imagine there are a few playing every Sunday who have. this is about public perception and public relations.
