That's right "Frank" (whoever you are), attack the messenger not the message. Well, I guess it is hard to defend such a douche as desJarlais, even for extremist GOPhers!
Wow. 16 full-time caterers. How often were events held in the building or off-site?
Katey Red was said artist. I missed her twice this weekend. I hate myself.
Was anyone running the numbers to determine whether the Symphony needed a catering staff?
It isn't like Nashville's only other catering options are limited to companies that serve white wine with the possum entrees.
The historic reality of living within a capitalistic requires commerical entities to operate profitably. The symphony management and musicians would like you to think that if they owe money and cannot pay it back, then they should be given some sort of "free" deal in the name of art. Perhaps say they don't need to be solvent or pay back their debt. As any business owner will tell you, when30% of your costs are labor, perhaps looking at other- nonunion labor is worthwhile. This is a right to work state and there is no shortage of musicians or profitable music businesses in the city.....................who don't cry for a bail out.
Wouldn't you consider that Mrs. Ingram' conspicuous absence of willingness to add more of her $$ is fairly telling evidence of her position ( as a manager of profitable businesses).
Let someone else buy the beautiful building at foreclosure and bring in more engaging entertainment and better skilled management.
Who knew? Tennessee Senator Frank Niceley failed to disclose the name of his farm within his 2013 Statement of Disclosure of Interests ss-8004 form filed with the Tennessee Ethics Commission:

And you've got me wanting to go catch THE FALL on demand — I haven't heard this kind of groundswell of buzz about a show since the early episodes of THE SHIELD.
Mr. Pink- I'm added that to my netflix right now.

I suppose that if a farmer in East Tennessee can receive a Tennessee Greenbelt property tax exemption on his farm lands that he can host polo matches and fox hunts...
Come down and see us Nashville. We have a real cool summer treat for you.
Wonderful! We're hoping Knoxville puts something like this together, too. It's a fantastic concept!!
"One morning a Farmer sat down to his breakfast, barely getting his gravy over the hot biscuits, when a sharp “rap” “rap” “rap” at the front door demanded his attention. Opening the door the farmer was greeted by a city dressed fellow with a wad of papers in one hand and a badge in the other. “Sir, I am from the US Department of Agriculture and this badge gives me the authority to inspect your cattle,” the man demanded. “Well, they’re right over there,” the Farmer responded, pointing to a nearby field. “I’m going to finish my breakfast.”
Shutting the door, the Farmer returned to his breakfast, grumbling to himself that his biscuits and grits were surely getting cold. The Farmer had no more than took his first fork full, when he heard the first “HELP ME!” Returning to the door, there was the agent running as fast as he could with the herd’s biggest bull close behind. “Farmer, HELP ME!,” the USDA agent pleaded. “Show him your badge,” the Farmer responded, as he closed the door wondering if there was enough coffee left in the pot for a refill.
Such has been the relationship between farmers and their regulators since the government first decided it needed to “help” the farmer. I grew up mistrusting government. My father was 29 when the stock market crashed in 1929 and was convinced that the county extension agent was a communist. Looking at the New Deal tobacco allotment program begun in 1938, I’ll have to admit he had a point..."

Ever notice how many of the headlines to Betsy's stuff contains the word "I"? And then of course the whole piece will be littered with "I" also. The other contributors to this blog, not so much. In Betsy's world, it's all about Betsy and little else.
Sigh. The Clampetts were *not* Tennesseans. They came from the Ozarks in Arkansas.
Dejarlais is a terrible human being, period. His fanbois are delusional.
Not much of a break for our state even from citizens from other states. Years ago most Europeans, having watched Beverly Hillbillies over there, thought our entire state was made up of the Clampets.
DesJarlais hasn't introduced ANY legislation, because he's poisonous. Nobody wants to hitch wagons with him to get anything done, and they know he's the walking dead.
All he has done is try to tie every bit of bad news to the president and make it a scandal. Benghazi, IRS, NSA. DesJarlais has jumped on each of them and won't let go even when the evidence proves him wrong.
Why pay to see two worthless talking heads who cant wait to bilk their walmart supporters.. What a waste of time and money to see those two losers.
Why the ryman? Put them in front of a walmart with their "kind of people and politics" and where they would feel more at home.
DesJarlais is still better candidate than the two mentioned to oppose him in the up coming primary. While he's not a member of the "I'm better than you" crowd, he has voted as a conservative and as promised in his campaign.
In addition, he has not introduced legislation that benefits everyone who financially supports his candidacy. Which is rare itself in our delegations.

Some people don't understand blog versus hard news. Get over yourselves.
