Yeah, the Pachelbel Canon is our magic nursery music. I like it, too, xray. They also like "Wagon Wheel," ha! "Rock me, Mama." I always sing a little Perry Como, also. The oldest two are able to find music on the computer. It always touches me that they still bring up the music they heard as babies and toddlers. Songs I sang to them while they were in the bathtub.
It's surprising sometimes what makes an impression.
They will need these sustaining things.
We've leaving quite a mess for this coming generation.

A couple of thoughts: 1) If the right comments on a blog almost invariably they're drawn into an argument defending themselves against personal attacks and then are blamed for starting the personal attacks. 2) The left has bought into Lincoln's "all men are created equal," and along having to "play fair" in elementary school and share everything, they've matured with the notion that successful people with "more" are intrinsically unfair to others with less rules their subconscious. And it all sounds so noble, except they can't see the impracticality, because without the more successful part of society we would sink to the level of Elbonia (from Dilbert). And since the less capable are incapable of attaining the heights of the more capable, the more capable must be made to share their success (taxes)and if that is not possible, to at least hinder their success (government regulations). This leftist attitude even extends as far as America's relationship with the rest of the world as so many on the left are willing to give up our sovereign powers (global warming and guns , to name two examples) to the UN. These citizens of the greatest nation ever are unhappy and feeling guilty about having so much and so are willing to give it all away so we will be equal to those below us, would do so solely to assuage their guilt because we have so much. Annnd, if you don't agree with them they call you names and engage in character assassination.
Obama has a 53% approval rating. Broken down, you would figure that's 47% from those on government aid plus 6% - about 11% of those not receiving government subsidies. 89% of those not on the dole do not approve of Obama. It's easy to buy approval ratings and elections with other people's money.

A) Another flood like 2010's flood will never happen in 500 years.
B) The levels of contaminants swept up by a flood such as the one in 2010 wouldn't make an iota's difference if this site is added to the water.
C) Note how there's no direct comment from the Mayor's office nor a request for a response. Why is that??????

The sane should have no trouble spotting future terrorist PLL attacks and metastases. A big word. Remember to apply sunscreen.
You will notice those who can't abide a different view. From their own. They can't resist personal insult. Their default mode. You will find that mean-spiritedness, intolerance, and general hatefulness are typical of the hypocritical left and many, many who are "liberal" in claim only. They think they are different.
They will try to dominate and control. They want everyone else to shut up. They want to be the only ones talking.
They have the mentality of the human toddler.
You know about that.
If you don't shut up, they will get uglier and uglier. Tantrums.
They are frustrated when presented with facts and every inconvenient truth.
It's sad they are this way. But Moppy got over her disappointment with it in the Sixties. That was when Moppy and Aunt ---- had long hair and wore hippie clothes. I'm sad you won't know Aunt ----. But I know she loves you and, if she can, I know she watches over you. As I will for you and the others. Always. I sensed her with us when you were born.
Avoid extremes and go your individual way. The extremes are the same. They think they are different. Study and think outside groupthink, though people have been crucified for that. Be careful, but proceed as you must. You have a purpose.
The extremes are unmatched in hatefulness. They think they are different. They never are. If they could stone us, they would.
Their pathologies are predictable. Always. They project so much, they could wear out a movie screen. Every outdoor drive-in left in America. They try to flame, but they aren't good at it. They have scorched themselves.
The alcohol in their systems has reduced their neurons and put them in danger of spontaneous combustion.
The pot has assured them they are geniuses and funnier than Harvey Korman in a Carol Burnett sketch.
They forgot who Harvey Korman is. If they ever knew.
Their cornbread ain't cooked all the way through.
They don't know what they believe. Not really. It sounds good, though. As long as they don't have to be responsible for it. Or live with it.
They know it all. The entire thimbleful.
They can't do math. And don't want you to learn, either.
They live in the gutter. And call others dirty.
They'll try to grab you. But don't go down there.
The low hates the high.
They skitter and hide. Like the roaches you've seen. But the Light will find them. Be a beam.
They strut and jabber. But don't do anything. Useful.
They think accuracy is optional. Or the enemy.
They can't manage a coherent paragraph. But want to micromanage your thoughts, your earnings, your life.
They think they are different. Mists of delusion.
They have grand ideas. That others, always the same others, must pay for. Every price.
They make messes. That someone else has to clean up.
Someone who isn't born yet.
Always look ahead.
The bambino is imminent. Baby brother is coming, precious little girl. I pray for your future.

Just losing the students isn't the only issue. The fact that schools like KIPP do NOT replace the students who leave with new students could allow them to manipulate the student body in a way that district schools, with students moving in and out throughout the year, could not. The question is whether the exodus of struggling students, not replaced, is what creates a high scoring, disciplined student body, and whether that is accomplished by charter schools pushing students out, rather than by them working wonders with a random assortment of kids.

@Kosh III: Blame the Aral Sea on big government because that's who interfered and caused it to dry up. Even so, if it didn't have an outlet it would have eventually became too salty to support life. You still wear shoes and clothes made by corporations. Watch TV at all? Listen to the radio? You can't get away from supporting corporations. Wear cotton? Then you support The Old South and slavery. WOW!!! Now back in my druggy days (70's), before fatherhood and those family responsibilities led me to put aside the bong and mushroom magic, that rather disjointed rant would lead me to believe some one took a 4 way hit of windowpane and flew alone into the land called Hanna-Leigh. Thank GOD I never travel those trails anymore for looking back, I can honestly say, they frighten me. But the truth is I do believe I recognize that general strain of paranoiac ramblings as delusional detachment from that which the rest of us perceive as real (reality). I perceive this NOT because of my own infection (though that would garner argument from some in my past), but from educational osmosis (I lived for most of my university years with someone achieving her Masters and PHD in Psychology, which I would not recommend to the delicate of sane, she was a bit crazy herself). Ah, LOVE, and the unintended lessons we learn!
One can only hope that help is on the way, for I fear someone has lost their rather tenuous grip on that slippery rim of sanity. Perhaps an intervention from the conservative tribes who still maintain contact with earth is in order. Perhaps confinement in a "Happy Place" before the Mothership evades the minions of the Evil Empire and launches once again into that other dimension that is Donna Locke. The one where ALL who stand in the way of the worship of her magnificence and genius lie in cowardly ambush. Those evil "phony lying liberals" dedicated to surrendering all that she holds holy to the dirty little BROWN PEOPLE; who ALL conspire to offend her sensibilities by their selfish cross border search (without benefit of excruciatingly slow sequence of red tape) for a better life for their BROWN families. OH THE HUMANITY! But when you consider that it is no longer fashionable, even in high rolling Maury County society, to hate Black people anymore (openly that is) and homophobic proselytizing is rather pedestrian in GOP circles, not to mention as common as fleas on a mules ass. We won't even mention those Muslim extremist terrorists that have the audacity to dominate the convenience market trade and dare to build another Mosque somewhere here in God's Garden (this Glorious Golden Buckle of the Bible Belt), those pesky little hard working hard drinking and salsa dancing BROWN PEOPLE seem to have won the racist lottery. And the one thing we know is this is a devious "phony lying liberal" conspiracy. Now let us pray for a White Christmas ( not Feliz Navidad)!
