Re: “#MayoralChatter: We Do Not Know What To Think About This New David Fox Ad

Fox now strikes me as someone who's playing at being a politician. All these "cute" ads, even his last gasp attack ad has to feature him play acting. Not that I would have voted for him but he looks like an amateur. It's worse than the Bone jingle (that sounds like a movie with Angelina Jolie, I know), and is not funny. The only thing that might work is the guilt-by-association attack on Barry via Dean, or it might trick some low info voters into thinking Barry was mayor for the last 8 years.

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

Perhaps Donna, isn't that the basis of christian conservatism? Or have I gone to far?

But then again, hearty is right also. Women as property is as old as the birth of man it seems. Remnants remain so today. Genial of medical coverage for religious reasons, outlawing a woman's right to the sanctity of her own biological system, gender and paycheck bias in the workplace; all archaic notions.

Re: “Mayoral candidate Megan Barry on her vision for Nashville, from the future of schools to transit and taxes

"why can't Barry commit to not increasing the property tax rate?"

No responsible city administrator (or elected official at any level) should commit to never raising taxes. It's a dereliction of duty to make that kind of pledge. No one can predict the future (say, a major flood!) and barring yourself from the ability to raise taxes as may be needed is irresponsible and foolish.

Look at the federal level and all the members of Congress who have taken Grover Norquist's no-tax pledge. And then we wonder why the national debt is $18 trillion. It's because legislators have been cowards and afraid to levy taxes at a level appropriate to fund our government properly.

Creepy ad . . . with narcissistic undertones . . . to be generous.

Re: “Mayoral candidate Megan Barry on her vision for Nashville, from the future of schools to transit and taxes

"Where is any thought or discussion of financial responsibility to the tax paying homeowners across the rest of this county?"

I'm a tax paying homeowner in Davidson County and I am perfectly happy to see my tax dollars being invested in making Nashville a better, cleaner, safer, more prosperous city. I think that's what responsible government does.

Did Hale and Barry end their interview with a long, wet kiss?

Certainly more creative than anything Fletcher Rowley could come up with, but then so is a blank screen.

In fine print under Megan's picture you it reads: continued on the back.

I used to be certain that the Scene was a liberal paper. I'm not so sure anymore.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: We Do Not Know What To Think About This New David Fox Ad

I liked the ad and though technically an attack ad, it's the kind of straightforward attack on a real issue that I can respect (unlike this "she's way over here" nonsense).

HOWEVER, all I can think when I see it is, "Are you better off now than you were eight years ago?" And the answer is yes, absolutely.

The Nashville Scene critiquing a political ad ?!?! The Nashville Scene is nothing but a sad political ad pretending to report something.

Stampede Consulting used to say Austin on its website. Now it says Austin, Nashville, Orlando. Im guessing we are all just market research is this dystopic Republican game.

I always thought the fox in his ads were weird but now it's become downright creepy.
