By the way, Gast, I am now rooting for a relative of yours--John Gast, who was brought up into the Cardinals' starting rotation when Jake Westbrook went on the disabled list (and may have more of a hold on the spot now that Jaime Garcia has gone on the DL as well and will likely be there much longer than Westbrook). I have found the name surprisingly easy to get over.

For continued enjoyment and maintenance of your political positions never stray from MSNBC. Nobody needs to know more than what they can learn from MSNBC. (Unless, of course, it's Occupy Wall Street, where we learned they were a total bunch of clueless idiots when it comes to monetary matters.) What an utterly disgusting product. Anyone who buys it should be ostracized. This is embarrassing not just to men, but to human beings. To primates even. If I were an orangutan and saw one of these sold I would hang my head in shame. (I could suggest it's apes that buy these, but that would be insulting to apes.)
I skimmed through the earlier comments but didn't read them--too much ignorant, hateful frothing at the mouth of the type I'm well acquainted with from the jerks who flock to Betsy's reasonable, well-written if not always essential posts. Perhaps you are trying to convince that blogger to move Nashville up to number 1 on the list of redneck cities. I can only hope you don't actually live in this town.

Utter nonsense. There are throngs of people in Nashville who thank God or a reasonable facsimile daily that they don't live somewhere else in Tennessee (and I'm not talking about Memphis), because most of it really is far too redneck. God or facsimile only knows how many more people in Atlanta must feel the same way. I would really like to see the actual data here--not that I'd be convinced of this ridiculous survey's validity if it turned out honest. Also, I'd like to know what the author's population threshold is for a "city." Finally, the article's just really obnoxious.

Whatever, Gast. I could post stuff that reflects my attitudes all day and you'd never admit to "learning something from outside your box." Thanks for alerting me to a fairly interesting article, but what I was saying previously is that I'm not going to waste my time plowing through all the vitriol you, Bobs and others spout on the off chance that I'll learn anything valuable from it. I don't have infinite time and among the many people who think differently from me, there are folks who are far more interesting and thoughtful than sputtering jerks like you. I also don't have infinite time for responses like this one, which is why I resolve now and again to avoid them. Wish I had more willpower.
