Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

The discrepancy in account activity between men and women calls to mind an anecdote.

Two five-year-olds, a boy and a girl, lived next door to one another. As children sometimes are, they were competitive about things such as their toys. One day the boy said to the girl, "I have something that you don't have." He lowered his pants and proudly pointed to his appendage.

The girl replied, "Yes that's true." She then lowered her pants, pointed and said, "But my mommy tells me that with just one of these, I can get all of those that I ever want."

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

I wonder. Why would someone register with Ashley Madison when Backpage is simpler?

No, I just enjoy deflating the pompous. Your posts make it easy to do.

Doesn't Fox have some sort of fanboy page you could go to? You would be happier. We would be happier. Win-win!

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

I feel I interact with tons of women on a daily basis, and maybe I just don't know these close friends and family members as well I as I think I do, but I really don't get the sense any of them are terrified of being raped. I'm not sure why Betsy believes she thinks for all women.

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

Correction, yoyo. Society, meaning men, made up the rules and created marriage, so that some other man's offspring would not inherit a married man's property and name. That's why the Bible has stories about raped women being forced to marry their rapists and men being forced to marry their brother's widow. It was all about property and family name.

"any troll can take any email address and sign it up for Ashley Madison"

That sounds reasonable, but didn't the hackers also release the activity on the accounts?

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

Mother Nature made males - of nearly all species - to nail any female that took his fancy. But society, because of the need to get along and have fathers for the children, came along and made up rules (marriage) to protect the wives (mostly). Men are pigs because we're made that way and it takes strong societal indoctrination to overcome the instinct to examine a strange thong more closely. That's just the way it is.

Brainless, of course I am reasonably intelligent read a lot of good stuff. We need not to comment on the obvious. Envy, those troublesome 7 deadlies, you are guilty of committing the sins almost everyday, at least here. You may have an exemplary life elsewhere.

It is tough matching up with the 4-5 true right wingers here.

Emperor, what was your impression of Scott Walker? Did he eat beans? Did he wear jeans? Were there greens?

Re: “The Daily Links: Larry King, Katrina Oaks, and the Roanoke TV Murders

Good story.

"Soon after the incident, the wine train posted a statement on Facebook asserting that the women had become unruly once the conflict escalated.“Following verbal and physical abuse toward other guests and staff, it was necessary to get our police involved,” the statement said. “Many groups come on board and celebrate. When those celebrations impact our guests, we do intervene.”"

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

"Also, women, by and large, are terrified of being raped."

No, they're not. They are reasonably concerned about it, as they should be. That's a far cry from being terrified. Betsy, don't impose your particular fears on "women, by and large." Most women, thank god, are far more level-headed than you. They don't walk around being "terrified" about something that is unlikely, thankfully, to ever happen to them.

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

If this NPR story is accurate, then any troll can take any email address and sign it up for Ashley Madison:

http://www.npr.org/sections/alltechconside…

Now that we know there are trolls out there with 70 different sock-puppet accounts just for a local alt-weekly's comment board, it's not a stretch to imagine that many of the AM registrations are fake.

I know... kinda spoils my Schadenfreude, too.
