I'm with Henry. That bit about Gray's Disposal is intertesting. Source (and should be more than one), Mr. Hale?

Re: “Calls, Checks and Chatter: Freeman Looks to Be in Mayor's Race

Lots of new names suddenly in here. MP&F must me warming things up again. Are the astroturf artists formerly known as Producer and Baseball Fury signing back on? Since the Amp is being back burnered does that open up interns to work on various election projects? The airport video Christmas card complete?

Any inside scoop, innuendo, rumors, etc. regarding this campaign is coming from Bruce and Megan Barry. The Scene is a simple mouthpiece for the Barry campaign.

Re: “With Huffman Hanging Up His Gloves, McQueen Next In The Ring To Defend Common Core

Interested to learn more about this candidate. I'm sure she has done well in the Lipscomb system, but Lipscomb doesn't have the anchoring drag of diversity in its schools as she will face running the statewide public school department. Common core or otherwise, it is extremely difficult to manage, much less improve, with the devastation effect of diversity.

What candidate in his right mind would waste money to slap campaign signs on garbage trucks? I don't get it

Re: “Calls, Checks and Chatter: Freeman Looks to Be in Mayor's Race

The only Fuzz hanging around without pay is in Freeman's fat belly button. Everyone knows Enoch is on the payroll for $10,000/month. This is Pastor Fuzz's attempt to push Freeman into the race and keep sucking on the teet. For God and People my ass, Pastor Fuzz, you should be ashamed.

Re: “Calls, Checks and Chatter: Freeman Looks to Be in Mayor's Race

The same populist that is currently debating between putting 1 million or 2 million into the race at the get-go? And is asking other candidates "does 4 million scare you, well, does it?" Hysterical.

"The Wall Street Journal went as far as to say, “The assertion that 97% of scientists believe that climate change is a man-made, urgent problem is a fiction.” Forbes headlined “Global Warming Alarmists Caught Doctoring ’97% Consensus’ Claims.”

More condos? This guy is an apartment developer. He has made his fortune acquiring and rehabbing c-level apartment buildings and making them b-level buildings. He is a populist democrat that will put affordable housing at the top of his agenda.

Re: “Calls, Checks and Chatter: Freeman Looks to Be in Mayor's Race

Why would he start his mayoral run by being unethical? Although it doesn't seem like a bugvdeal, but if you are willing to enter with encouraging others to break agreements I can only imagine what else he would do.

Re: “Calls, Checks and Chatter: Freeman Looks to Be in Mayor's Race

What could he possibly run on, other than more condos and more "tall skinnies" destroying our neighborhoods?

Re: “Calls, Checks and Chatter: Freeman Looks to Be in Mayor's Race

It appears this man will do whatever he has to do to become mayor. Someone that wants that power that much needs to be feared.

The electorate is more powerful, but I doubt they are that smart.

Re: “Calls, Checks and Chatter: Freeman Looks to Be in Mayor's Race

"After the Bone campaign signed an agreement with Gray’s Disposal in October to place signs on all of the company’s trucks for $10,000, Freeman then agreed to triple the fee and pay for any associated legal costs to break the agreement and place Freeman campaign signs on the vehicles."
Has this been reported before? If not (and if true) it's an important and revealing story. What's your source?

Re: “With Huffman Hanging Up His Gloves, McQueen Next In The Ring To Defend Common Core

Let me get this straight: she's a Common Core advocate, but she's been administering schools that don't follow Common Core or even the old Tennessee state SPI's? She is supposed to "sell" standards to a state legislature when she couldn't convince her own school's parents?

I will say this: she has more experience than Kevin Huffman had when he took the job, but there's something about a private school principal "making the leap" to run a vast public school system.

Lipscomb's school of education is top-notch, even if their church schools probably aren't.

Re: “Council Approves Bridgestone Incentives, Uber/Lyft Regulations

What created urban regulatory boards was either the blatant need for one to control excesses and abuses, or significant contributions to political candidates, usually established ones.
