Re: “Carl's Jr Ad: 'Look At All The Steroids And Hormones We Use!'

Hardee's burgers aren't all that bad for a chain shop. Until there's a Twin Kegs in every zip code, I'd rather stop than than McD's in 37214.

As far as the spot goes, if this is what it takes to popularize grass-fed, so be it. Just cross your fingers it's not GMO alfalfa they're feeding on.

Re: “First Bite: The New Listening Room Cafe

I went to The Listening Room Cafe tonight, and the food was awful--greasy nachos with fake cheese and no salsa, unimpressive mac and cheese, while the so-called "house-smoked seasonal vegetables" consisted of microwaved broccoli and carrots with a sickeningly sweet teriyaki sauce drizzled over them. It is 4 hours later and I am still feeling ill.

Re: “Big Changes Coming as Nashville Farmers' Market Goes Producer-Only

I am glad to see the changes to the NFM because I fully support local and sustainable food. However, I do not agree with kicking out non producer vendors like Barnes Produce. Barnes Produce has been selling in the NFM for 5 generations and Poppy, the owner of Barnes, has been selling there for the past 45 years. You can't just get rid of history and pack them up and move them to the fairgrounds. Can you imagine how much rent they have paid over the past 45 years? I know the NFM has struggled the past few years and needs a change but people like Barnes have hung in there and paid their dues to just get kicked out because of a new rule. I agree rid the market of socks and cheap crap from china. I also agree the market needs more local food vendors and I believe Delvin will be a great addition and I can't wait to shop with them. I just think the NFM should consider maybe keeping a small group of the non producers in order to offer variety and continue a legacy.

Potato, Kale and Bean! And anything that can sit in the slow cooker all day or pressure cooker less than 30 minutes.

Re: “Beer, Bacon, Burlesque: A Cautionary Tale

I also emailed this Sean guy about our terrible experience at the joke of a festival and we haven't heard back from him. Seems like he is indeed the con artist that people say he is. My brother knows him through mutual friends at an East Nashville bar and they all agree that this guy is a lowlife. I'll never get mixed up with another Hootenanny event.

Re: “Today Only: Uber Teams with Party Fowl for Hot Chicken Delivery

And then they pulled it before the advertised 2pm end. Nice. I realize it was about awareness, but it was utterly lame to have checked 20+ times and every time it is "not available".

Re: “Carl's Jr Ad: 'Look At All The Steroids And Hormones We Use!'

No one eats at Hardee's after breakfast, so I guess they could insert a solid gold brick in every third burger and no one would care.

Re: “Weekly Open Thread: What's Your Favorite Winter Soup?

This year it's been baked potato soup.

When my aunt makes her chicken and dumplings, a quart = 1 serving.

This is awesome and hopefully this will lead into the same lunch delivery system Uber has in LA.
