Yawn-- "Seriously?"
I guess you didn't read the whole thing, where she says:
"Shovels and Rope, Jordan Hull and the Black Cadillacs are bands everyone should be paying attention to! -Rosemary Haskins, artist, producer, engineer at WaterWorks Entertainment Studios, Nashville"
There's three bands right there. Granted it's not 20 or even 30, but she did list some bands.

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, Dec. 20, 2012

Seriously? Rosemary Haskins said she could name "20 or even 30 bands" that don't get any attention, but so far she hasn't named a single one. After complaining about all the bands that get no love, she couldn't think of the name of ONE SINGLE BAND. Or not one important enough to mention anyway. Still looking?

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, Dec. 20, 2012

Everybody wants to play in Nashville. I just read through that list, "The 2012 Rock 'n' Roll Poll" (Dec. 6), and didn't see one band that has played in my little town just a mere 60 miles up I-65. Why is that? Please don't hide behind that bullshit there's no place to play, because that's exactly what it is: bullshit. So can they not get a local or what? Maybe just maybe they are Nashville local bands. You know just locals. And agree wholeheartedly with
Rosemary Haskins, artist, producer, engineer at WaterWorks Entertainment Studios, Nashville. Who are those guys?

Hey, Bob Cole, why sit around complaining that there are no "white film festivals?" Start your own! We really need more film festivals that show films by white filmmakers! The market for them sure is small! Poor white filmmakers!

To whomever: The last week or so whenever I make a comment at Pith it takes forever to download, with the little designs running in circles, around and around and around. It makes me think the comment is being filtered and downloaded in a place far, far away. Anybody else have this problem?

Gotta Say, I live in Franklin, TN. (Dallas Downs) Someone build an increadable uneven fience (UGLY), bless their heart, (southern girl), but still has their sign out for more business.... wow! Its on Heatherset if anyone wants to see just how lazy the fence builder actually was.... for every post (where dirt was dug) there is a raise in the fence. They took no time to make it even~~~ how stupid~! I have never ever built a fence, but know better than that! I am just a hairstylist! DRIVES ME CRAZY TO SEE IT EVERYDAY~!

The Farmers' market is not private. it's some kind of metro hybrid that is supposed to stand on its own but has always been subsidized.

Hey Rocky, bitter much?
Your insight into human sexuality is quite comprehensive and intimidating. "...when afraid to go with the other sex or something." You really are a wordsmith. I can see how easily you crafted ten number one hits in the UK. I think it was the "or something" that I found to be most profound.
Is five grand really all that stands between you and super stardom? Really?

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, June 7, 2012

I would like to make three comments. First off inform Cheyl Wright she is not the pride of Nashville, no one is born gay that is a choice one makes when afraid to go with other sex or something. Next off The Blues Is Back in Town on jefferson street, what a joke, Nashville know naught of blues instead listen to pop country, I should know I am a registered singer/songwriter in blues with BMI, have ten number one hits in UK, a member of Blues society and yet can not even get a corporate sponsor or private sponsor from the money prostitute Nashville. For 5k I could be on Preety boy Records released on major market radio all over US but all they want to back here is country pop unless born rich like T. Swift whose dad backed her, have been on another media and have some talent like Kristin than no chance in Nashville.

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, May 24, 2012

As somone who works in the Nashville City Center, I've often noticed the delivery person for the Scene making their rounds. And I was wondering in this time of people "trying" to be greener why doesn't the Scene recycle their unwanted papers vs. throwing them into the trash? There is surely a recycle area there at the office - can't they just bring them back to be recycled verses laying out in a landfill waiting to "break down"??

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, April 26, 2012

I understood the meaning of the Title and agree it is a Positive one. I was only posting a comment due to the fact that I had several people ask me the meaning of "Redemption Song" as the title of my Letter to the Editor. Again I thank the Nashville Scene and Editor for posting my letter. Any and all comments are welcome.

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, April 26, 2012

Apparently y'all aren't Bob Marley fans. It's the name of a song. A very hopeful, positive song, about redemption. No condescension intended.

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, April 26, 2012

Concerning the letter by Scott Shepherd, "Redemption Song," I also found the title to be condescending, not sure that was the intent, but that's how I took it also.
I myself appreciate you publicly telling your story. You are sending a positive message to others through your experiences with racism. A positive message of HOPE.
Thank you for trying to make a difference!

Re: “Love/Hate Mail, April 26, 2012

Thanks for printing my Letter to the Editor! You titled my Letter "Redemption Song" I however wish to make it clear that my views and feelings today are sincere and from the Heart! I understand that some may sing a song and not be sincere. With me this is not the case! I think my actions so far by publicly stating how I am today, proves my sincerity! My views and feelings on the racism issue has been made public to those that I once considered enemies, such as the Southern Poverty Law Center with their Anti-Racism Programs. I assure you all I am sincere!

Thank you,
Scott Shepherd
