Re: “Prima is a really good Mediterranean restaurant, and a so-so steakhouse

Here's the thing: there are some people who will always want to go to a steak restaurant and always order the steak. I think it's great that Prima (and Kayne Prime) know that some people go to these restaurants with steak-lovers, but want something else. Both restaurants would get my recommendation over yet another trip to the Stockyard or Jimmy Kelly's for a business dinner because there is something for everyone. The vegetarian and pescatarian options at Prima are fantastic (I haven't been as tempted to fall off the wagon in 15 years as I was over the grilled octopus) and the menu is truly unique. I think that deserves more positive attention even if the steaks aren't truly remarkable.

Re: “Here are five local burgers you should be eating right now

Dalton's Grill in Bellevue has a fantastic bacon cheeseburger. Also need to mention Sportsman's in Belle Meade. The Fat Mo's on White Bridge Rd has been terrible the last couple times I've tried it, granted I have only had the courage to go three times in the past three or four years because each experience has been so bad. Like the patties seemed like they were frozen and microwaved or something. Maybe it was a few isolated experiences but it didn't seem anything close to what I had grown to expect over the years. Did the White Bridge one come under new ownership in the past three or four years?

Re: “Here are five local burgers you should be eating right now

It's hard to believe that any listing of the best burgers in Nashville did not include Rotier's grilled cheeseburger. It's a classic and always delicious; you can count on its quality like you can the ticking of the everpresent clock. I fear sometimes we get caught up in the new, the novel, and the outrageous (and, I fear, also the price, as in the more outlandish the cost, the better!!) as we make such lists. That's something that all journalists, especially those dealing with foods, should strictly avoid! KISS (" Keep it simple stupid!").

Re: “Here are five local burgers you should be eating right now

Burger Bar in Murfreesboro has the best burgers in the boro, worth a visit if you are in the "sticks"
I would love for someone to explain to me why Nashvillians look down on Murfreesboro? Anyone care to enlighten me?

Rotier's is overrated. Brown's is a classic everytime.

The Slider House is a delicious burger, but it's priced for drunk college students spending daddy's money.

Re: “Here are five local burgers you should be eating right now

Very informative article and comments. Many new burgers to try. I have to say the burger I had at Fat Mo's had me spitting so much gristle I had to give up on it, and I am a charter member of the Clean Your Plate Club. i'm going to get off my hump - TODAY - and go try the Twin Kegs burger. Vielen dank.

I've tried a lot of these, but for my money, the best burger day in and day out is at Dog of Nashville on Belcourt.

Re: “Here are five local burgers you should be eating right now

You guys need to check out Curley's Carryout in Antioch, their burgers are some of the best I've had in Nashville. And their strawberry cheesecake shake is awesome!!

Re: “Here are five local burgers you should be eating right now

You guys need to check out Slider House in midtown. It's open until 3 am so we hit it on the regular. Gourmet slider burgers but not too fancy like Burger Up. Also they have this rum milkshake thing that is so awesome.
