Re: “At Green Hills' new market and smoothie bar, the revolution will not be televised — it will be microwaved

What sort of training does one require to be called a "holistic chef?" Serious question. Also, is it possible to reheat these meals in the oven or are they microwave only in their packaging? Nuking precooked fish doesn't seem ideal.

Re: “Scene readers seem to be eating better barbecue these days. Is Nashville finally a 'cue destination?

Until someone finds and photographs Edley's smoker, Nashville has not arrived as a BBQ destination. And puff pieces like this are getting out of hand, only further encouraging Scene readers who are evidently are more swayed by reclaimed wood and mason jars than pits and smoke rings.

Stopped by once and ordered 2 entrees; forgot what they were and for a reason; they were forgettable. Expensive and tasteless. I predict a short tenure.

No offense to Ms. Fox, whose writing I do respect, but there are a fair number of single people and/or childless couples in the world. This, and quite a few of her reviews in the past couple years have really harped/hinged on whether the respective restaurant/business "works" for kids/families. Frankly, the nice thing about Nashville's growth in recent years is that there are many more diverse options, and especially places that are geared only for adults/singles.

I still can't believe that after all the studies and scientific evidence, nutritionists are still loudly proclaiming that low fat is the way to go.

Thanks for the review--I had not heard about this restaurant . Sounds very interesting.

Re: “A menu of 25 dishes you could order in 1989 Nashville but can't now, and the opposite of that

The L&C Tower used to have a restaurant (was it called Nadine's?) that served a spaghetti sauce that was out of this world delicious. If anyone knows what they put in it, I'd love to know.

Re: “In East Nashville's hotly contested Mediterranean sandwich strip, everyone's holding out for a gyro

My two favorite gyros are from Kalamata's, (2 locations,) and Istanbul on Nolensville. Try Kalamata's Rickrak, everything they make is good.
