Re: “Local man Langhorne Slim releases new recording

What a lame headline! Is this a small-town police blotter from 1950? Come on...a third grader could come up with a better heading than that! And beyond that this review is so mean-spirited and disrespectful...it's almost as if the writer has some sort of personal beef with the artist. Dude, did he steal your girlfriend...come on! Based on the crowd size & enthusiastic response at The Mercy Lounge on Saturday night I think a whole lot of Nashvillians appreciate and approve of Langhorne's latest artistic endeavor and they were there to show their support in a big way...and Maloney's petty, negative criticism is just one jaded person's opinion.

Re: “Bob Dylan in the age of Twitter: more vital than ever

He means the Red River of the North... or simply "The Red River" in the Upper Midwest, not the Red River of the South.

Re: “What It Really Means When People Call Hunter Hayes Country Music’s Justin Bieber

No, cant listen to hunter. Very rarely do any of the newer acts actually have a good song. Thank god for siriusxm and their older country stations. Country went downhill fast around 2015. Country has turned into pop and bluegrass has turned into country. Hell, every hard rock is going down hill.at 29 i think its time to musically become an old fart.

Re: “Local man Langhorne Slim releases new recording

It's easier to be a critic than be a creator. Critics risk nothing. Except maybe a paycheck. They get paid to blow smoke / pour fire on the things they like / can't stand about themselves.

Show some respect Sean Maloney, Show some courtesy to the artists that give you a platform to begin with.
Remember that artists like Langhorne aren't static (like indie rag critics) they are moving, going somewhere. Trying to build something meaningful. From nothing.

Not every record is gonna sell. Not every record is gonna blow the local indie rag's monkey mind. Get over yourself Sean Maloney. Relax, Nashville Scene. Have a Pop Tart and start showing a little more grace to the folks who keep you employed.

Re: “Glen Hansard, Jay Farrar, Jewel, JD McPherson and 26 More Added to AmericanaFest

I could have sworn Lydia Loveless was on the original list of performers. Has she been removed? She is fucking awesome so I was pretty excited to see her again

Re: “Florida Georgia Line Says 'Girl' 42 Times on Anything Goes, aka 'The Worst Album Ever'

they play music that some people want to hear. obviously there are quite a few people who like that because....... THERE FUCKING RICH AND YOUR NOT. quite honestly there music is better and less degrading than any rap music ive heard besides fucking macklmoore or however you spell it. you guys are haters for no reason. and im not defending them because i "like" them because personally i am a country boy but i think, while i dont find theyre music displeasing, i think its to "generic" for country, they reaffirm the stereotype that you ignorant fucks have about "hicks" "country" and "rednecks". i invite you to listen to country music, give it an honest try. listen to George Straight and the real country and i guarantee your opinion will change. also the people here who hate and say this is bullshit but listen and like rap music instead says a lot about your character because RAP AND COUNTRY SING ABOUT THE SAME THINGS!!!! *(women, cars, money, weed, drinking, etc) just one is a FUCKLOAD more derogatory than the other ex.) rap/woman=bitches. country/women=women or ladies
rap/beef="shoot that mothafucka till i get arthritis" country/beef=be a man, throw some hands, let it be done, and go grab a couple beers at the bar afterwards. some people just dont have their heads on right man. get your fucking priorities straight.

Why no rap/hip hop acts? Kinda missing out on a big market. Run The Jewels would be great out there.

Re: “Willie Nelson to Open for Country Singer Steven Tyler at Pilgrimage Festival [Updated]

I think it's going to be a good event. My problem with it is that the "Rules & Policies" say once you're in, you can't leave and re-enter that day. Harsh rule for an all-day, all-night event.
