Re: “Eric Garner Protest Stops Traffic, Onlookers From Broadway to Gulch

Read the quote from you I copied and pasted. You said it was a chokehold, and then you turned around and said anybody who called it a chokehole was a liar or ignorant or both.

Re: “Eric Garner Protest Stops Traffic, Onlookers From Broadway to Gulch

Jim: So wait, you say you're better informed than me, and then you go on to confirm what I wrote, namely, that this was a choke... It looks like a shitty attempt at a rear-naked choke: http://wordondastreet.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/choke.jpg

Second photo in particular convinces me it was a rear-naked choke.

What are you even getting at?

To AnglRdr: Not sure what your "Erm" is all about.

Has a single soul claimed that this shooting wasn't justified?

No. So, seriously, STFU. You're not helpful.

Re: “Haslam to call special session on Medicaid expansion

Reading the comments from co-governor Ramsey (BP's term not mine), Alexander and Corker is priceless - oh how they stuck it to that mean ole Obama and came up with their Tennessee plan.

I will be impressed if the Govs' (that would be Bill and Ron) can pull it off. And then there's fun to be had watching them sell it to the collection of clowns in the TN general assembly.

Re: “Haslam to call special session on Medicaid expansion

This is an outrage and a humiliation of the first order! RINO Bill has got to go! I'm going to start researching what our options are! It's either impeachment, recall, at the very least a lengthy suspension! Phil Valentine probably knows what options we have available! Any accommodation with Obummer cannot go unchallenged!

Somebody shoots at you, you have the right to shoot back and defend your and other lives. Hope the officer is OK, it appears to be a righteous shooting. Shame someone had to die, but that is the case.

Re: “Eric Garner Protest Stops Traffic, Onlookers From Broadway to Gulch

not a headlock: Not ignorant nor a liar, simply better informed than you it appears. Whatever mma school you attend should go back to mowing lawns and doing taxes, because it's wrong. But I will repeat for you given the comprehension issue.
A carotid restraint is applied NOT across the windpipe, but across the carotid, hence the name, located more to the side of the windpipe/neck. What was applied was a forearm across the windpipe that cut off most air flow to the brain. Coupled with severe compression on his chest he obviously had issues with air intake causing him to blackout after pleading he could not breathe, and eventually causing a cardiac incident which resulted in death (via autopsy results as reported).
BOTH moves are taught in Special Forces and Marine Force Recon hand combat training. One is designed to kill and/or incapacitate (choke hold) one is designed simply to incapacitate (carotid restraint). However you apply either too long a permanent damage will occur. Both are dangerous and too many cowboys think viewing a video is simply enough to educate. It takes intense personal training to apply safely!

Republicans feel sorry for the insurance executives that make $90,000 a day. Republicans are very kind liberals because they feel sorry for them people who earn that much.

Tragic event, sounds like the police did everything they could. Proud of Nashville's finest and prayers for the McDonald family and Officer Downs.

Re: “Eric Garner Protest Stops Traffic, Onlookers From Broadway to Gulch

In my life, never have I heard that the NY Post, a Rupert Murdoch joint, "must" be read.

There's a reason for that, but let's examine the reason why this story is really a "can certainly miss:"

1. The date. It was prior to the full autopsy results being released, and quotes an unnamed source regarding the preliminary results. This story about the final autopsy results say this: "The medical examiner said compression of the neck and chest, along with Garner's positioning on the ground while being restrained by police during the July 17 stop on Staten Island, caused his death.

Garner's acute and chronic bronchial asthma, obesity and hypertensive cardiovascular disease were contributing factors, the medical examiner determined."

2. "He died of cardiac arrest in the ambulance on the way to the hospital." Nobody dies of cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest is what happens at the end of life, but it is caused by something else. That's what the autopsy is to determine.

And you missed my earlier post, john. Heed it.
