Steven,
" In the wake of his retirement, one can easily imagine voters who realize they were more loyal to Henry than to his party, creating a potential opening for the right Republican candidate."
Roughly what % of the old district that was not overwhelming Democratic is still in the new district? That would give us an idea of how many non-Democratic pro-Henry voters might be available for the Republicans to snag. I suspect the percentage is much smaller than your article suggests.
His frustration is completely understandable, and the *desire* to solve the problem as a vigilante is very strong: people who use their cellphones in a theater of any variety should be tarred and feathered, at least figuratively.
But you just do not touch other people's shit.
But, champ, the thing is you do care, which is why you keep responding to me.
*That's* how good I am at controlling the narrative.
You have much to learn, sport.
Oh, just have at it, sweetheart. Whenever you "remind" me of it, I'll be sure to tell you how much I care.
Keep trying to control the narrative. Just know that you really suck at it.
I can see the roof from my office. Goats would be delightful to watch!
It wasn't an order, punkin; it was advice.
By all means, continue acting like a pissant. Whine when you get treated like one, and I'll remind you of this conversation.
Stop trying to give people orders, AnglRdr. You aren't in a position to tell anyone else what to do.
Up yours.
"District 21 is historically blue, having been represented by Henry for more than 40 years. It is considered to be even more left-leaning after Republicans redrew the district lines in 2011."
Rather than these Henry voters waking up and realizing they liked Henry more than Democrats, it seems much likelier to me that the district's love of Henry is what allowed him to continue in the Senate despite his conservatism (and some really risible behavior). I think you can take from Yarbro's almost-coup, and all of our other local officials, that the district can easily support someone bluer than Henry. I was happy to support Yarbro then and now.
I'm no analyst but the idea that a Republican is going to triumph over one of two extremely popular local liberals is just a laugh.
When you meet the right person you have zero misgivings - absolutely none.
Quit making shit up then, Zoombah.
If you want to have a grown up discussion, act like a grown up. If you'd like more of what you're having with Jim, carry on as you have been.
@AnglRdr: Please stop wasting my time.
Thank you.
Of course, if the Internet sales tax doesn't get passed, then he's going to have to find another way to pay for the elimination of the estate tax.
Hey, by the way, Ramsey - where were you on "market fairness" when Amazon landed in the state without them having to collect sales tax? Or why don't you sic the TN Department of Revenue on the thousands of use tax scofflaws in the state if you're so principled about it? Oh, wait. You want the federal government TO DO IT FOR YOU.
Correct, it was 2010(http://www.nashvillescene.com/pitw/archives/2010/05/21/democratic-party-names-top-targets-in-state-house-races). And thankfully Jeff Woods understood spin when he heard it, unlike the this story's author.
@Zoombah: "You appear to want it to say that the 1994 AWB reduced crime significantly, which is not the case."
What did I say that led you to that conclusion? Please quote directly.
I actually agree with Ramsey on this issue, largely (I think internet sales need to be taxed like in-person purchases), I think the bill is terrible.
On the other hand, I just want to see this event happen for the lulz.
I'm interested to know where Betsy falls on the issue of an internet sales tax. Is she willing to listen to and discuss opposing views on this topic. Or, is she a low-info citizen just looking for daytime-tv-style bread-and-circuses, all the while bringing dishonor to Tennessee with regards to our more refined East and West Coast compatriots.
Mr. Ironic Fact Checker, Chip Forrester never said Dems would take back the House in 2012.

Yes, I have much to learn, as do you. Unfortunately, you aren't qualified to do any teaching.
