Now THAT's funny, Keely. Best obscure Bites comment of the year!

Re: “Goo Goo Cluster Introduces Bite-Sized Lil' Goos

I'm the beneficiary of free Goo Goos (premium) for a year.

At a risk of biting the hand that feeds me (no pun intended), I've noticed that since the beginning of the promotion Goo Goo premium's most healthy ingredients- nuts- are disappearing.

I like my chocolate dark and filled with Standard Candy cashews and almonds. Corn syrup, versal whip, emulsifier and creme fondant, presumably in the name of cost-cutting, just don't cut it.

Go get a Goo Goo- even though now it's only semi-good.

That was the saddest, meanest movie I've ever watched. And you like it. Says a lot.

Re: “Proper Bagel Under Construction on Belmont; Share Your Bagel Thoughts

What about the impact to the neighborhood residents and to the Blvd? Obviously no concerns whatsoever, as if the Slums of Belmont couldn't get any worse. Somebody get your high fallutin Political activist butts out there and clean up that alleyway and make it a one way street; it's so busy it simply does not qualify anymore as an '"alley".While you're at it get some noise ordinances in place for all the AC units, fans, restaurant equipment, broken buzzing street lights, etc. There has already been ongoing unresolved issues with the other businesses and one slumlord. Parking is already beyond a night mare; where are people going to park? In places they aren't supposed to park, that's where, usually because they are to lazy to walk over from Magnolia (24/7 parking) or up 50 yards on the Blvd. And Bagels, although yummy, are extremely unhealthy. Nice puff piece though; good try.

Re: “Open Thread Wants to Know: What's the Best Restaurant Delivery Service?

I didn't even think of using a service, but then Hors D'Oeuvre Up came along and I created three different accounts to talk about how great they are!

Re: “Party Fowl to Serve Up Hot Chicken in Two Locations at Stadium

So no one will actually be serving HOT chicken at the stadium. Party Foul is the poorest of imitators.

Re: “Sam's Sports Grill Opening Soon in Westgate, But Probably Won't Reopen in Hillsboro Village

He doesn't seem to have a problem with keeping a restaurant "afloat". The issue here is with the fire and the lease, not operating a successful business. He's opened a half dozen of these places all over town, all apparently successful. With regards to the competition, his comment was specifically about the aesthetics of the new buildings, not with the other restaurants themselves. Giving a shit about the integrity and look of the neighborhood is the opposite of "disparaging the neighborhood that put him on the map". As far as his competition, Sanchez commented to the Tennessean that Double Dogs brought more overall foot traffic to the neighborhood and to his bar.

No, I'm not related to Sam, but I use to enjoy catching the NFL games on Sunday in what was my favorite neighborhood and It'll be sad to see those buildings knocked down in favor of more jerk off condos with a Chipotle on the bottom level.

Re: “First Bite: The New Family Wash/Garage Coffee on Main Street

We loved everything we tried - beer cheese, hushpuppies, fried green tomato biscuit, burger, and those good! The cocktails were excellent too. Even the kiddo enjoyed the experience and has already asked when we can go back to "the restaurant with the singing man".

Re: “Sperry's to Open Butcher Shop in West Meade

I'll try it at least once; for the record, long before there were PRButchers, there was Todd's Butcher shop on the West side. Most West side restaurants aren't worth the menu price anymore than Hillsboro Village or Downtown. With Harris Teeter shut down, the best thing that could happen here would be The Corner Market to re-open.

Re: “Sperry's to Open Butcher Shop in West Meade

For what it's worth, I do better ordering ahead at PRB. I wish Sperry's well but probably won't patronize their butcher shop based on location. (I've only eaten at Sperry's Cool Springs once. I was in my late 40's at the time and felt like the token child in the room. So sedate and nothing spectacular about the food.) The list of west side restaurants seems to me more like places you "go out to eat" or a workday lunch rather than "an evening out." Aside from Le Peep, I'm not eating there under any circumstances.

Re: “Open Thread Wants to Know: What's the Best Restaurant Delivery Service?

I'm very excited about Favor's arrival in Nashville. I had been using Postmates but I think I'll switch to Favor from now on. Deliveries are $1 in August which rocks. But they're only $5 flat starting in September. I've paid over $20 for Postmates deliveries. I love knowing that I'll pay a flat fee no matter what. Plus, the Favor drivers have been super friendly and helpful. I'm hooked.

Re: “Open Thread Wants to Know: What's the Best Restaurant Delivery Service?

God, what a steaming pile. I cannot imagine the soul crushing task it is to be one of the poor people that has to deliver your Jimmy Hats, and snackie cakes. Do you folks ever leave the house? I bet not, because you're too busy or whatever. It's not convenience, it's your lack of planning. And the developers of this stuff? Is this the best you can do with your PhD in comp sci?

Re: “Open Thread Wants to Know: What's the Best Restaurant Delivery Service?

I had been an avid user of Door step for almost 3 years until Order Up came along. It took me awhile to move over to them.... multiple door hangers, flyers on my car, etc. All of a sudden they had this $3.99 pizza deal..... yep, I am in!! The one thing I have noticed since I began using them is they are always adding new restaurants. Now I don't even have to leave my house to get sushi from O'sake or a Blizzard from DQ.

Re: “Open Thread Wants to Know: What's the Best Restaurant Delivery Service?

I've ordered restaurant delivery quite often, and I'm very particular when it comes to my food and how it is handled. I have ordered from Dooorstep Delivery, Delivery Dudes, and most recently, Order Up. I can honestly say that I will only be using Order Up from now on. It's the cheapest delivery service in town, I can track the delivery from the second the driver departs to the second he/she arrives at my door. Not to mention, it only takes around 15 minutes for my food to arrive, AND they have the best restaurant selection out of anyone in my opinion. Order Up is the way to go if you are trying to decide between Nashville's restaurant delivery services!
