Re: “Nashville Was No. 9 For Guns In Airports in 2014

With this many STUPID people, who don't realize you CAN NOT carry a gun on a plane, going armed in Nashville, I somehow feel a whole lot less secure. Not from criminals but because of mental deficients going armed in public, legal or not. I doubt legal matters to many of them.

Texas Tea: MPD didn't call all gun owners rednecks, just those caught at the airport foolishly carrying. Cool the paranoia, and get the foil hat back on!

Providing a credit card is not taxi drivers job yet the taxi companies have to provide it. However at Nashvegascab, we have a best backseat credit card machine for our customers convenience. Downloade nashvegascab app and try to book online and you will love it.

Re: “15th Annual Country Music Critics' Poll

Agreed LMYERS.

I'm excited to see Sturgill at the top of the poll, but the author's take sort of sucks. Instead of focusing on the bad writing above, though, I'll say why I like Sturgill so much.

Every song that he writes is full of depth and thought. They're not cooked up, and I can actually tell that his experience is being poured into his songs. For example, when I hear his song Panbowl, where he sings about his favorite times of his childhood at Panbowl, which is presumable a lake town that his family lived around, I can't help but fell where he's coming from while simultaneously thinking back to my own experiences in a truly meaningful and unprecedented way.

Further, his ability to cover a song has to be unrivaled. He made The Promise into something that I barely recognized, but instantly couldn't get enough of.

At the end of the day, you're either an Elvis (soul) or Beatles (pop) guy. Sturgill's all soul, which is why I can't get enough.

Re: “Yes, The Open Meetings Law Means You Have to Speak Into The Mic

While I agree with most of Sherri Cole's post, "lifers" DO most certainly see a problem with the way things have always been done. We are the ones that brought this lawsuit. We SEE many problems here and are doing our damndest to change them. I was at the meeting, I couldn't hear, we complained by letters and email, WE got something done for the entire state concerning this problem. We are fighting USN and the IDB tooth and nail. There is MUCH more to this story.

MPD apparently has an inordinate fear of nutsacks falling across the bridge of his nose.

Why is MPD so filled with gay hate that he uses such terms?

Re: “Yes, The Open Meetings Law Means You Have to Speak Into The Mic

Before I moved to Greeneville, TN I would have laughed at the incredulity of this situation. But having lived her for eight years now, the attitude of Greene County officials and industry leaders here is just what I expect. This is the most ridiculous place I have ever lived. Sunshine laws here and plenty of other statues meant to provide transparency and protect equal opportunity are ignored here. Lifers in Greeneville see no problem with the way things have always been done, it's the transplants like me and those looking on from the outside that say WHAT?

I guess they're just more proficient at hiding them in NY and DC.

Re: “I don't have a good reason for not drinking — I have the best reason: I don't want to.

Drinking culture is very weird, and it seems almost everyone has some hang-ups about their consumption, even if they abstain. What always gets me is drinkers' paranoia that I am judging them, that they have something to be ashamed of, or that I am imagining myself in some place of moral superiority. It's totally true that it shows a lot more about them than it does about me. And it's similar to vegetarianism. I don't drink/eat meat *just to annoy/perplex you.* Good read.

In other words, keep doing what you're doing, Andrew Miller and others. You are probably ahead of your time -- with, unfortunately, all that entails, according to history.

Re: “MTA CEO: 'We Should Not Build The Amp at This Time'

A stinging defeat for our kept man mayor Karl Marx Dean, maybe Karl can finish out his term by jacking up airport parking again or ramming through another property tax increase.

Was so glad to have Sturgill play our Gram InterNational at Douglas Corner when I still could, in 2011.
